Match Thread Bristol City FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Mar

Probably not but lets be honest it would take a miracle for them to get into the play-offs given the form of Wrexham and Southampton compared to their own. Not made any easier by the fact that they only have one recognised CB available and likely will do for the remainder of the season.

Again, I wouldn't really go as far to say it's absurd. Sure, it's far more probable that they won't both go on a ridiculous run between now and the end of the season. Us all playing Sheff W is a big help as in theory that should be 3 points all round, plus their game against each other...

    10 more wins does it

I don't think they've got the legs for automatics based on that very reason though. Similar to relegation you need to be beating those around you and they've been doing the polar opposite. Ideally they take points of Ipswich and Boro but thus far they just haven't really shown enough against...

It's really not that absurd. Win percentages are cumulative averages that fluctuate as the season progresses. They don't follow a linear or steady progression - which you're seemingly inferring. So, over a small sample of games sharp increases in win % aren't all that uncommon, nor are sudden...

    10 more wins does it

I don't really see Millwall posing much of a threat to either Boro or Ipswich if I'm honest. Their record against the current top 6 so far this season is very poor. Lost 0-4 and 2-1 to us. Lost 3-0 to Boro. Drew 0-0 to Ipswich Lost 3-1 to Hull. Won 0-2 and 2-0 to Wrexham. 4 points from a...

    10 more wins does it

What people are getting a bit wrong here is we don't necessarily have to mess up that badly to fumble autos. The league has the potential to be much tighter but because of Ipswich's games in hand, which is the uncertain variable, the table just hasn't taken full shape yet. Ipswich's away...

    10 more wins does it

My only slight concern with Ipswich is their away fixtures are all very favourable with exception to Southampton and Norwich. Their form at home speaks for itself despite being up against tough opponents but I'm hoping they pick up their habit from the first half of the season where they end up...

I genuinely hope they do pull off an upset. A 11 day gap between two fixtures when momentum is with us isn't necessary a good thing.

    Championship thread 25/26!

After tonight Ipswich have a fairly favourable run over the next three games where I can very much see them picking up maximum points. Leicester (h), Stoke (a) and Sheff W (a). Add in a potential W against Hull and that 11 point gap suddenly becomes a lot smaller, not helped by our game this...

    10 more wins does it

I more mean crutch from now until the end of the season. We've placed a lot of emphasis on our home form seeing us through this final stretch, and quite rightly given our record there since FL arrived, but it's certainly going to be tested over the coming weeks. Wrexham and Southampton are...

Personally I'd much rather see Hull win than both pick up a point. Ideally we want Ipswich gaining minimal points from their games in hand so we can keep them at an arms length.

    10 more wins does it

It's funny as ask me a few weeks back and I would've said the same about our home form being our crutch to promotion however our away fixtures are far more favourable. As you've mentioned Hull's home form is seriously letting them down, Watford haven't been great at the Hawthorns for a while...

    Signings from parachute clubs

I wouldn't sign any players from the Championship to be honest. It's a crap transfer strategy and never works - see Ipswich last season. The value also just isn't there as it's an incredibly inflated market. Paying £20-25m for instance for Hackney is IMO appalling business. I'd much rather...

    Championship thread 25/26!

This also coincided with probably our toughest run of the season when we had to contend with fatigue, illness, out of form players and injuries. Lampard's tactics were also all over the shop at times which from recent results looks to have been rectified. We're more than capable of being able...

Hull also have a pretty difficult run in. Out of their remaining games, and in no particular order, they still have to play us, Wrexham, Norwich, Ipswich, Sheff U, Millwall, and Birmingham.

Who makes it in the Prem?

We paid Swansea £500k compensation. I think he'll leave though I neither see the point in retaining him. It'll probably be a good time for him to move to be honest. He only has a year left on his deal, isn't likely to get any game time in the event we do go up and he's at an age where the club...

Match Thread Coventry City - Stoke City Sat 28th Feb 3pm ko

Ah sorry yeah didn't read the post properly. I don't think there were any from memory away from home apart from Fulham like you said. It wasn't a win but the only half positive away result against an automatic contender that sticks out in my head was the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

Brentford and Leicester off the top of my head.

Thomas also has relatively decent pace for a CB which we'd need in the PL.
