After this season, Doyle cannot still be a starter, I'd be happy for him to be a player-coach and having a bit-part role, but we need a starting CM if we're looking to be in and around the playoffs or more. Right now, with Thomas injured and we're light on the flanks, it's natural we should...

Personally, I’d field Doyle and Kelly in the middle going forward. Thomas and Bayliss on the flanks because Hiwula is playing really well up front. Bayliss having more space out wide and license to roam off his wing (as Shipley did today) could benefit his game.

I disagree strongly, as I did with the notion selling Willis last season. If I’m wrong, I do apologise, but I’m sure we had this debate around Willis and looking at where we are now, it’s fair to say that not selling Willis was undoubtedly the right choice. You’re presenting the options as...

He’s deluded if he genuinely thinks they had the better chances. Whilst we didn’t create clear cut chances, they didn’t offer a lot but for one set piece chance. It was pretty average game, attacking-wise, but we were the better side by far.

Burge, 7 - safe pair of hands today, good save at the death. Sterling, 8 - classy performance defensively and going forward. One thing that particularly impressed me was when he was pressing their LM and had the IQ to notice the run behind him, he then dropped off and picks up the interception...

Good result. Good defensive performance and Hiwula impressed me up front. But, otherwise a pretty average performance. Robins’ subs were spot on and felt Doyle and Kelly in the middle gave us stability and is something I’d consider going forward.

Tom Bayliss - show me the money.

Ahhhh, I hadn’t completed that sentence! They’re all potentially similar to Ogogo in the sense they’re very good at their club atm, but may not fit in with us. We need balance, but I don’t think it’s achieved by selling Bayliss, especially for players who aware nearly 30. Personally, my view...

Average age of today’s starting 11

No, this logs every lineup every team has posted. Yesterday’s Charlton’s team average age was 26.8, 4.1 years older than our starting line up. From the link provided, there are 3 teams that consistently post the youngest lineups, ourselves, Walsall and Barnsley. As for Barnsley, they have just...

Average age of today’s starting 11

Yes, here’s a list. As you can see, Walsall, Barnsley and ourselves have the youngest teams in this division. It’s worth noting that, at 37, Doyle is propping up our averages as he’s 7-8 years older than our next oldest (Andreu - 30, Brown and Ogogo at 29). One of our lineups had an average age...

Average age of today’s starting 11

Not really, you can see it’s part of a wider transfer recruitment policy. Even with Ogogo and Brown starting, we’d have a starting eleven that is about the 2nd or 3rd youngest in the division. We had an average age below 24 with Doyle in the team. The age gap between Ogogo, Andreu and Kelly is...

No ones doubting individual talent. But how many teams that are as young as ours win titles? Very few.

Tom Bayliss - show me the money.

There wasn't really any substantial interest in the first place, so I'm doubtful that there are a host of clubs out there who are willing to pay the minimum acceptable fee for Bayliss. Either way, I'm not convinced it's the best course of action. Certainly not worth the risk in the January...

Tom Bayliss - show me the money.

The notion of selling Bayliss is a stupid one. Firstly, he has genuine quality, and a bout of bad form doesn’t change that, and you have to factor in the fact that he’s cutting his teeth in a man’s league as a centre midfield. Secondly, where’s any kind of long-term vision in selling him? In...

Patience is needed with young players, and we’re not in a bad state at all. You could see we lacked confidence, because we started to play and try more things after Hiwula’s goal. We’re now 3pts off of 8th place. We had an excellent run followed by a poor one, and that levels out. To have beaten...

In all honesty, it was pretty average game that didn’t have a lot of chances. However, with Charlton being 4th and our run of form, a draw would’ve been a good result. Match ratings: Burge, 7 - made a really good save, and was solid, minus 1-2 inconsequential occasions. Sterling, 7 - played...

    Thomas injury

I wouldn’t blame him if that was the case. However, in my view, he’s not ready to make the step up because there’s too many occasions where he could’ve made better decisions. Take today, there was one shot where he took a v low % shot to the keepers near post when we had 2-3 players waiting for...
