    Chris Stokes

You’d think splurging £1m on players here there and everywhere is the only metric of investment. Very narrow mindset our fans have. In terms of on-field investment, our owners have been quite good for the last 3 seasons now (including this summer). I thought SISU deserved criticism for not...

    Women's World Cup 2019

I 100% agree. I’m glad there’s growth across the board in a lot of women’s sports, greater exposure generates interest. Which will hopefully increase investment, participation and sponsorship into the women’s game. This is how the money will seep down to the players, as wages, male or female, is...

    so wasps were involved ?

Exactly. He was involved with the SISU regime too so I’ve always been at least slightly suspicious in trusting him to run this club better than our current owners. The Preston Haskell saga was exciting, but trusting someone like Dale Evans? That was enough for me. He isn’t the knight in...

    so wasps were involved ?

The more that comes out of this, the more I think SISU aren’t the bogey man they’re portrayed as. Certainly seems like there’s attempts to undermine the ownership of CCFC and enforce some sort of regime change. Last 3 seasons they’ve backed the manager, and we’re a club on the up. Wasps and the...

    Women's World Cup 2019

One massive way this isn’t the case... Australian women's national team lose 7-0 to team of 15-year-old boys For context, Australia were one of the favourites going into the Olympics.

    Number 10

If we don’t get Bright, I’d like to play 4-4-2 I think.

    SISU - Public relations

The council haven’t exactly been compliant? The RICOH wasn’t offered to the football club as it was with Wasps. Then there’s the difficulty of obtaining planning permission from a council who’s relationship with the club is sour. The council also quashed any moves to ground share with CRFC...

    SISU - Public relations

The implication of what you’re saying is that you’d give in to all of Wasps’ demands. Imagine if the European Courts ruled in ‘our’ favour, Wasps has to pay the council whatever they do. Had we signed up to their demands, it would be us footing the bill and probably bankrupting us in the...

    Next Seasons Confirmed Squad/Transfer Rumours

I agree with Badlan too. Thomas had enough chances to have ended with well over double figures in goals in the league. Hiwula finished with 12 league goals after a relatively slow start too. As for Chaplin and Bakayoko specifically, they are being completely wrote off far too soon. They scored...

    Mowbray vs Robins

Robins has been better than Mowbray for Coventry City. Our recruitment strategy has been head and shoulders better under Robins: - Targets have been identified and brought in much earlier - Long term strategy; investing in development players who have potential to start in 1st XI e.g. Hyam -...

    Next Seasons Confirmed Squad/Transfer Rumours

My initial thoughts too. However, it’s worth considering that Forest would get potentially the most out of him this summer as he’ll only have 1 years left on this contract next summer. I’m looking forward to the rest of the transfer window

    Next Seasons Confirmed Squad/Transfer Rumours

I'm not so sure, Forest are looking to get promoted from the Championship so may be looking at higher profile players. It's not obvious that strikers who can get 20+ goals in L2 can do it in the Championship. McNulty and Mo Eisa being recent examples.

    Confirmed - Gervane Kastaneer

That’s all you had to say instead of using the silliest of examples.

    Confirmed - Gervane Kastaneer

1 season and we signed him years after then. Using the most ridiculous examples is just counterproductive. Scepticism is good, they are risks. Just as all signings are. A quick check on google for Jobello and Kastaneer demonstrates why O’Donovan is a v poor example.

Probably would be if I was a supporter of a 3rd division team.

    Confirmed - Gervane Kastaneer

We could probably dredge up some sceptical comments about Bright when he first joined. So it wasn’t immediately obvious he’d be a good player for us. How many players have we signed from abroad since Gunnar and Mifsud? Malaga, Slager and Manset (he was at Reading and Carlisle before us)? How...

Did they do that with Bright?

    starting 11

Bright’s record before us was not appealing in Scotland nor in the Championship. On the face of it, we’ve signed a Ligue 2 and Eredivisie player. On the surface, this is very encouraging as we are in L1 and signing players in higher leagues than us. I do, however, share the same concern as...

    Confirmed - Gervane Kastaneer

With the exception of Gunnarsson, these came from the lower divisions abroad. It’s also worth noting that those latter two players were signed when we were absolutely skint and had no scouting network. It appears real thought has gone into these signings!
