I wouldn't say to 'help' the community. Not selling the freehold helps ensure it stays there, so it can be used as intended, that sort of thing.

I take more to mean that it is protected for the community, as a leasehold there will be restrictions over what they can do to the stadium and it's land.

I don't think we are disagreeing on the financial points. The bit I don't get is the reference to community asset, as I see it the freehold is the asset not the management company.

Their happiness may be because they don't have to deal with all the hassle anymore, it's a bit easier to take that view when it's not your personal money at stake. If the naming rights are due next year, which I believe is the case, that could be £10m plus back for ACL owners straight away.

Whoever now owns the shares in ACL have come out on top, they've got a bargain. I think everyone else has lost.

I think the main point you make is correct Grendel, SISU successfully distressed ACL. Where they have gone wrong is that they didn't go in for the kill at the right time, and Wasps have come in and grabbed the prize. If ACL were doing well that wouldn't itself be a reason not to sell, but they...

Because its by far the best option we've got. Unless you can think of a better, more affordable one.

If they start to try and run the club properly we won't need new owners, they can try and trade their way out.

If SISU do the sensible thing and try and agree terms to increase the length of the rental deal we'll be fine. If they decide to carry on with the plan to move out, that's the time to be really concerned.

That's what I'm guessing at the moment.
