I’m assuming we’re going for more than 1 player, these deals take time to come to fruition. Currently listening to Neil Warnock’s audiobook on Spotify and it’s interesting as well as being revealing!

    Points for Away games

There was an Ipswich fan calling for STs to be abolished so everyone can go to 4-5 games a season… I wonder what games those are?! 🤔 If you get to 1100 points, you’re more or less guaranteed access to whatever game you want. That’s where I’m at despite not doing many games in the 22/23 season...

Jack Burroughs has been loaned out to Kilmarnock. Hopefully, we’re making progress on bringing in a CB (Worrall) or RB at least. Good luck to him!

Exactly and other clubs weight their loyalty points according to demand. I work with a few Chelsea members and Tottenham at home bags you 1 loyalty point/caps because it’s a game everyone wants to go to. Our points systems is good and suits our purposes for now. As our tickets get more and more...

100% - ask Swansea fans what Gyokeres was like for them and they’d have told you that you’re barmy if you believed he’d be a top Championship striker, let alone a top European one. The Championship is a tough league.

I agree because it seems strange that in-demand games get 20 points. For example, WBA away is 20 points, the same as Blackburn Rovers away - both midweek. At some point, I expect that they’ll start to weight loyalty points based on categories. Midweek cup games at home like this should be given...

Match Thread Coventry City - Oxford Utd - Match Thread - Friday 16th Aug 8pm KO

For sure, Torp, Bidwell and Binks all could’ve done their jobs better. Binks goes for the ball and misses it whilst running past their goal scorer, who also does a shimmy . I’ve rewatched the goal again during the stoppage in the Spurs match. Binks doesn’t have Harris and it’s Bidwell who’s...

I think the opposite, they’re all inexperienced so having someone with proven leadership skills around them should help them develop. It doesn’t necessarily mean Thomas would get dropped because right footers can still play LCB. I’m a big fan of Thomas, I’d say he’s the best central defender we...

He didn’t have his man covered if ‘his man’ scored… The ball went past him too.

Match Thread Were the Oxford goals Lucky or calamitous Defending ?

The first goals wasn’t freakish at all, it was just poor defending. First, we failed to clear our lines and Torp and then Binks’ loose aerial duels. Lati, Simms and Binks all ball watch before Simms’ touch teed it up for their defender. It was a good finish but that was after a catalogue of errors.

If the goal is automatic promotion, you have to compare that to the other teams around us and the quality isn’t there yet. They’re all young for CBs and adding someone with a bit of experience in and/or getting promotion from league could only be a good thing. There’s a gap at RB too that Lati...

Agreed. It’s usually a 1.5 hour drive back home for me to Coventry that took 2 hours despite leaving at 13:30 on Friday!

I said “older than 27”. I’d originally put Tats, Allen and Bidwell because I thought Sakamoto was 28 (he is in October).

For home games, I love Friday night KOs. 12:30 is not ideal for someone who likes a lie in. On this occasion, Bristol (A) on the train is quicker than driving to Coventry for me.

Match Thread Bristol City (A) 24th August 12:30 KO

Bristol didn’t really create any clear cut chances either. They weren’t anything special and if we play as we did against Oxford, we’ll blow these away. My prediction is 2-1.

Match Thread Bristol City (A) 24th August 12:30 KO

Really? Binks lost a header in our own box which surely played a contributing factor in their first goal? Likewise, look at how close he was to the goal scorer for their second. The second goal he can get the BOD because it was quite lucky but you bet he and the management reckon he (and...

Yes that is all true and in the only game Kitching was available, we kept a clean sheet. Arguably, he already has if we keep a clean sheet v Oxford on the 27th.

Match Thread Bristol City (A) 24th August 12:30 KO

He’s only kept 2 clean sheets in 20 league game appearances for us. Class act on the ball but there’s a reason he was 2nd choice behind Kitching last season.

We’ve addressed GK though haven’t we? That was looked at as a priority and we’ve got the player we chased since March. Moving on from that, we’ve lost a lot of experience in our squad and the only players older than 27 are Allen and Bidwell. We’ve been linked with CMs and Worrall so it seems...
