EFL suspend match day Covid testing.

Awful decision, now teams who don’t fancy playing their next game will have to decide way in advance if they want to get it postponed.

So cool that the guy who runs this forum spends all day complaining about sensationalist media, then posts random tables about the vaccine that he’s seen online without knowing if it’s just FB loons, but hey, he’s just asking questions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In this country, it was the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines. I can see you’re having another normal one.

If you want to run your own message board where you spend the whole day seeding doubt about the vaccine, then go ahead, I’m sure you’ll make people proud. Just don’t pretend you weren’t gasping for it back when it was the only thing that could possibly get you back in the gym or the pub this...

Not really. All this moaning about the ‘goalposts moving’ around a brand new lockdown-ending vaccine is like a guy dying of thirst and then complaining when he gets served Pepsi instead of Coke. Crying because you didn’t get the vaccine when everything was locked down, only to then claim that...

You were literally begging for the vaccine this time last year, but now they’re the baddies again?

    Jamie Allen signs new Contract

Nothing against him, but he strikes me as the kind of player you’d ideally be looking to move on from (a la Shipley) because the team’s outgrown him by 2024.

Omicron being so weak that it’s mostly harmless to our healthcare system would be fucking brilliant news. But people wanting to take a victory lap for calling it two weeks ago based on nothing more than their own assumptions and some stuff they saw on Twitter? Nah.

Sorry to hear that. Is your wife not even going to be with you? This is the first Christmas I’ve not been working for three years and I’m doing fuck all as well!

Even if you’re right (and history suggests you’re not if you look at polio/smallpox etc) - why would this stop us from aggressively trying to vaccinate as many people as possible? You can already see the huge benefits the vaccine has bought us - why do you prefer to spend your time seeding doubt...

If medical experts decide that you actually need three doses to be fully protected against Covid, is there a problem with them subsequently changing the definition of ‘fully vaccinated’? I don’t see the issue here.

I'm sorry, the government is "keen" for a new lockdown? Are you sure you have that right? The media certainly overplays elements of the Covid story, just as it does with every story from politics to football - (sadly) that's their prerogative, and we all lap it up, yourself included. But can...

Played up by who, and to what end? The government? (They've consistently resisted lockdowns) The media? (Lockdowns are disastrous for their business models) The health experts? (They have no power) All of them would love nothing more than to move on from Covid. Just like the rest of us. It...

Your suggestion that the threat from coronavirus (including Omicron) is being overblown compared to other health problems doesn't really work though. You may not be concerned, but plenty of health experts are. Why will it get to that point? Because the media want to sell more papers? (Makes...

There were on average about 14 suicides a day last year (thankfully, the suicide rate fell in 2020). There were 5200 suicides total in England and Wales last year - we've had about 70,000 coronavirus deaths in the UK as a whole in 2021. Personally I think the jury's still out on whether...

I don’t think it says that. Read it again: So essentially, Omicron is more infectious than Delta. That’s all it says. If you get the booster, you can still catch it (same as with almost every vaccine) but your chances of getting it are significantly reduced, and your infection won’t be as bad.
