Probably because on several occasions he’s been just as bad if not worse
A classic example of a player who gets better and better as long as he’s out of the team for long enough
It doesn’t have anything to do with the coaching, they’re just all goalkeepers of similar ability playing in front of a back line that routinely exposes them to soft chances. No amount of keeper coaching is going to change that.
I don’t think our policy of dropping keepers every time they make an error and buying a new one of similar quality to replace them has been very effective either.
There is enough dross in this league to keep us up for sure, but if a new manager comes in and alienates the players and/or over-commits to a new system that doesn’t immediately yield results then it could get dicey. We need someone to come in and be pragmatic now.
Our defence was shocking last season, yet we proceeded to bring the same defensive unit back, and spent loads of money on more strikers and yet another mid-range keeper instead. And people STILL wanted us to sign more midfielders.
Far from our biggest problem, but EMC looks completely overmatched, like a player who’s quickly realised that none of his old repertoire works even slightly against opposition at this level
Maybe there’s some kind of lesson here on how aggressively vilifying certain communities is rarely a recipe for helping people assimilate into the social greater good.
Forgive me for thinking your commitment to communitarian ideals was never that strong if the loss of a £300 payment was enough for you to abandon them entirely.
