Match Thread Millwall FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Dec

We seem to be at the “better the devil you don’t know” point of the season already, where long-benched players seem to be the answer just because they haven’t shown themselves up recently.

    The goalkeepers

We seemed to jump incredibly quickly to the conclusion that he was totally washed. Two more GK signings and one move to Sunderland later and it appears that was extremely hasty on our part.

Central-ish location, loads of pubs, good transport links, big away end, good atmosphere - easily the best I would say

Match Thread Millwall FC - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Dec

Would steer clear of Borough Market personally - touristy, crowded and pricey even by London standards. The Shipwrights Arms is usually good if you want somewhere near the station, but we usually do a crawl along the Bermondsey Beer Mile and get a cab from one of the taprooms to the ground...

    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

Again, I’m a huge fan of Robins and his legacy speaks for itself. But his legacy isn’t defined by a cup run, especially one where precisely one of the games we won was a match you wouldn’t fancy us to win.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I don’t think they’re compensated to the extent that the country’s most talented minds would consider moving profession to become an MP. So I guess, no?

    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

Millwall’s manager quit straight after making the semi-final that year btw, because of their bad league performance

    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

Not really. We played the lowest-ranked team to ever make the Fifth Round, at home! I was a huge Robins fan, but being able to beat Oxford (L1), Sheffield Wednesday (bottom of Championship) and Maidstone all at home, plus a stellar result against Wolves isn’t the reason why. Nor would it...

    Gregg Wallace

He certainly needs to appeal to a new (buttery biscuit) base

    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

Incredible is a good way to put it - we had one of the easiest roads to the semi-final you could ever imagine. It takes on outsize importance because of those Wolves and Man Utd games (one of which we still lost!) and we’ll all wear it as a badge of honour, but you can’t use it to say last...

    Another rant on defending corners

Are we back to ranting about corners again? Only seven teams scored more goals from set pieces than us last season. This season it’s only two.

    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

We had nothing to play for because we’d had a crap start to the season. King may have wanted a cup run (who doesn’t?) but no-one was under any illusions that the league performance would decide whether Robins stayed in the job. Hence why we had a nice cup run and then sacked Robins a few months...

    Transfer Rumour Robins to Hull

The goal for the season was to challenge for the playoffs and we finished nine points short - it was obviously a failure The cup run was great fun, but it was a literal sideshow and highly unlikely to be repeated given how favourable the draw was

    Calm down

You can say this about literally every team in the division (uhh except Sheffield United I guess) I personally think the squad (bar the defence) is a capable one, but it’s been assembled at a wildly inflated cost.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Quite possibly - it would obviously be an outrage if they were used today.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

It’s a ridiculous legal anachronism that no civilised country should allow.

Absolutely shameful from Biden. Just a historically awful presidency.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s a fun concept but in practice no one would want to stay there, and it would just encourage more of them to make cushy deals for second homes on the side No one wants to admit it because everyone hates them, but MPs have an important job and should be compensated to the extent that they...

    Match Thread Home game atmosphere

Away atmospheres haven’t been brilliant either tbh (I’m arbitrarily blaming the points system)

    The goalkeepers

The fixation on changing keepers as a way to solve our defensive woes has held us back ever since we moved away from the ultra-safe 3ATB style. Invest in some decent centre-backs ffs.
