I don't really see why the club would go to the trouble of, in your words, bending over backwards only to give a "passive" apology (whatever that is) but sure. Seems to me like everyone got what they wanted here and is being generally respectful of Morsy's decision, even if they don't agree...

They don’t? I know there are tactical trends you do and don’t like, but there has to be a reason behind them beyond collective delusions of grandeur.

Because it may dissuade people who are entitled to basic services and rights from making use of them. If the number of people incorrectly dissuaded is greater than the number of people correctly prevented from using them, you have to question the wisdom of such a scheme.

So why does everyone else do it then?

Does anyone smarter than me on tactics (so, anyone with eyes) know why this seems to be the standard way to defend corners?
