    What moment still haunts you?

The instant goal line technology would be pointless if the tech wasn’t 100% perfect. It only works because people trust that it is. The tech simply isn’t there for VAR offside decisions so it’s just an exercise in performative objectivity, the whole thing is just theatre. Should have been...

    Israel - Palestinian Conflict

From a purely logistical standpoint I think it will be extremely difficult for both Israel and Hamas to return their respective hostages/prisoners in such a short window, especially when you’re talking about human remains. Given the levels of mutual mistrust and the previous issues in returning...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

It’s very funny that Marco Rubio nominated her for the prize.

    What moment still haunts you?

Never seen anything like it. Didn’t a load of Cov fans invade the Man City family/wheelchair section or something?

    What moment still haunts you?

There’s a part of me that is at least glad that we got to celebrate that goal for as long as we did. It was one of the most special moments I’ll ever have at a game.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Even if you disagree with Palestine Action’s methods (as I do!) and want to see them all behind bars, surely you can appreciate the argument that proscribing them has been a major tactical error from the government, given that public support for them has ballooned?

    Super Bowl in London

I’m not sure any US rivalries do go that deep, but I never claimed they did! There are very few sporting rivalries anywhere that aren’t mostly modern constructions these days anyway imo (which is fine)

    Super Bowl in London

A Hall of Fame isn’t tribalism, it’s history. The US sports culture is obviously different from UK sports culture (is different from Spanish etc etc) but rest assured, there is plenty of history and tribalism to be found.

    What moment still haunts you?

Nerves I can understand, but leaving early because you believe you can predict penalties?! After the season we’d had?

    Ex Player Watch

Any time you get the chance to spend £2.5m on a kid who scored five goals in Belgium, you take it.

    What moment still haunts you?

It’s unhinged behaviour to leave a playoff final during a penalty shootout, surely this is a false memory or something?

    Super Bowl in London

I didn’t say it was the same level as ours (however we’re choosing to measure that), but to say they have “none of the tribalism or history” is ridiculous.

    Super Bowl in London

When we formed, there were Major League Baseball teams that had already been in operation for more than a decade. American sports are consumed with history. They fawn over past players and teams with Halls of Fame, retired numbers etc in ways that football has only started to copy relatively...

    Super Bowl in London

    Huh? Of course there is.

    England squad

Sounds like Tuchel wasn’t happy with ze English fans.

    Super Bowl in London

That being said, of all the NFL games in any given season, the Super Bowl would probably be the one game that American fans would be least bothered to see go overseas, given that it’s always held in a different city every year anyway.

    Super Bowl in London

It is extremely unlikely to ever happen for the simple reason that the Super Bowl will only ever be played at an early evening time slot on the east coast, and you wouldn’t be able to stage an event that large that doesn’t start until almost midnight.

Transfer Rumour Bassette to FC Utrecht

There has been lots of speculation about Bassette being moved on because of some epic falling out behind the scenes, but I think it’s equally as possible that he was moved on because he just wasn’t very good.
