If a new club was formed

No. I would follow a new Coventry club designed to replace CCFC if we ceased to exist, however. (That's a new club, not Dongonzalos's Nuneaton transplant, just so it's clear) :)

    CCFC Survey

I said no, categorically stated that it would be financially disastrous in my view, and said that absolutely nothing would change my mind because nothing I had seen would lead me to believe that this would be of any benefit to the football club.

Well I am a member as well, so I will wait patiently for my copy. I have some stern, well-worded things to say that even if they are never read by anyone in any position of authority, will at least make me feel better! Thanks for the info!

What was your first ever City game?

I find that quite interesting, as the idea of clubs in the 60s turning down players for being one-sided is quite amusing to me. I had thought the notion of being able to use both sides well was a more recent development. As for it being a lovely story, you'll forgive me if I don't see the...

What was your first ever City game?

Dad's a born and bred Coventrian. Used to go every chance he had until he left in 1967. Spent most of my formative years listening to tales of Ronnie Rees, George Hudson, Ernie Machin, George Curtis....or of how you could go and watch the reserves for free at half time. Dad also apparently (his...

What was your first ever City game?

Leicester at home, November 1999. I had landed at Gatwick thirteen hours earlier. We lost 1-0 and I didn't care. Being raised in Australia, I had never experienced such atmosphere at club sport. Saw four other matches on that trip, including the 3-2 win over Arsenal on Boxing Day.

Hypothetical Question just a bit if fun

Indeed, I have. Many of whom will, it seems, not be doing that. They can't even run a football club properly. Nor can they build and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders. I don't think anyone trusts them to build a new stadium out of LEGO. Okay. When I previously...

No I'm not, your second point is valid, and prove your last assertion.

I'm not a British resident, though I am a teacher and as such have a great interest in education policies around the world. And although his decisions affect me not at all, I still want to throatpunch the git.

Fair call, BSB, I'll accept both of those points. Could a very rich owner take them to the Premier League by hoping that a fanbase will materialise though? Actually who am I kidding, you could still just refute that by saying, "Wigan" ;)

Also, Whelan did not have to contend with FFP. Doesn't matter how many squillions Haskell has if the revenue doesn't allow financing of a competitive and successful squad.

Hypothetical Question just a bit if fun

I'll grant you that the crowd numbers when Whelan took over are similar (if not worse) than Nuneaton's. But you're comparing a club that had already been in the Football League for fifteen years at that point with a club that have been in the Football League approximately never.

Hypothetical Question just a bit if fun

When were Wigan last that low in the football pyramid? When were Nuneaton last in the Football League? Bit like comparing apples with a Volkswagen Golf.

Hypothetical Question just a bit if fun

This is probably the most batshit insane thread I have ever read on SBT. A multimillionaire will buy a small but proud Blue Square club and take them to the highest echelons of English football (oh but only if shitloads of people jump on the bandwagon, otherwise those 3000 fans are gonna have...

    Population = Potential - Owners/Investors Please Note

Not just success - even if there was a whiff of positivity about the place, I think people would be more supportive. As it stands though the club has the stench of failure emanating from its every pore. It's no wonder that it's only the truly hardcore that are left attending every week.
