WASPS press conference from the Ricoh at 10am

For now. We seem to go backwards so we will probably end up with our old club name. If Wasp changes too we will be 'Singers' and 'Stingers'. Awesome.

WASPS press conference from the Ricoh at 10am

I am trying to catch up, so maybe someone has already commented on that. Anyway, the rental strike was more than 2 years ago (time passes quickly!). 2 years ago the club was not a paying tenant.

WASPS press conference from the Ricoh at 10am

So back in October 2012 - when sisu were negotiating to buy the Higgs shares - hmmm. If true that is disgusting! (And it may give sisu some new ammunition in their JR appeal).

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

Because CCC decided to buy the loan themselves. That was the game-changer.

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

    5. They have decided long ago enough is enough they won't ever deal with CCC and really go ahead building a new stadium?

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

Again: £5m to Higgs, £2m-£5m for the loan. No offer for CCC's shares. So, up to £10m for 50% of ACL.

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

It was. They believed they could have bought the mortgage at approximately £2m-£5m. Was that ridiculous? I am not so sure. Both ACL and sisu made a lot of public noise on how close the club was to fold. Add to that ACL clearly wasn't in good financial health too - mostly surviving on one-off...

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

The deal collapsed when the condition for the deal was broken - when CCC took over the mortgage from YB.

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

Not quite. The value of the deal seems the same, but the deals are completely different. Tbf - I would much prefer the Wasp deal for the club over the original sisu offer.

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

I still believe that the club would be in a better position owning ACL. Without owning all income streams, without the ability to develop new income streams, without benefitting from stadium sponsorship ... etc etc this club has limited chances of getting back to where I think we should be: The...

    Fisher Speaks on cwr

Sisu never offered £10m for Higgs shares. They offered £5m on the condition that they also bought the loan from YB (they believed they could get if at somewhere around £2m-£5m). They would then own half of ACL and in the process due to the £14m loan being discharged the balance sheet of ACL...

Question for Grendel, Nick, Torch etc...

I think there were probably a few employees of ACL who were scared of losing their job if sisu took them over. Well, they won't be any safer with these new owners. New owners -> new idea's. New 'Chiefs' -> New 'Indians'.

    Fisher Speaks on cwr

Actually I think it is the head of Yorkshire Bank who is still laughing at getting nearly the full amount from CCC.

    Fisher Speaks on cwr

They were offering Higgs £5m - £1.5m up front and the rest over a few years. In addition they would buy and discharge the YB loan - sisu valued the loan at £2m-£5m. So up to £10m for 50% of ACL.

Wasps deal is for 100% of ACL

    Key question!

Wasps bid for Ricoh Arena valued at £30million

I seem to remember sisu tried to buy a half share in ACL. Higgs should receive some £5m and sisu would buy out and discharge the mortgage from YB - then at £15m. So a deal proposed value at £20m for 50% of ACL. It didn't work out for a number of reasons. CCC and Higgs are now ready to accept...

Wasps bid for Ricoh Arena valued at £30million

Well, it depends. Doesn't it? I can think of one finance group that caused upset when they tried to buy into ACL.

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

The treaty provisions on state aid was introduced with the Lisbon treaty in 2007. State aid was never an issue when the Ricoh was build.

Formation no better than Thorn's diamond

I would say it very much depends on the players and their abilities to work the system and play their positions. Just like every systems, but as this is new to us we it must be blamed. Last season our record against teams ending 14th-24th was W7 D6 W7. We didn't play 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 last season...
