    Walsall Match Thread

The last 5 league games is 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss (Notts County). Not too bad and could be seen as a turn-around after the 7 games w/o wins (Reda and Nouble sidelined). But I suppose that would require a positive mind-set.

    Delusion?

No, when Wasps bought ACL they accepted the overall value of the company and the potential profitability going forward (including servicing the loan) could justify the price of £5.5m.

    Delusion?

No, it's NOT the same. The loan is part of ACL's financial balance - they have assets to counter the loan. If ACL did not have sufficient assets to cover the loan they would be insolvent. Wasps paid £5.5m - not £20m.

Only 9 points off the play-offs

Yes, it won't take three wins to close the gap. It will take 9 wins back-to-back.

Wasps have not bought the Ricoh...

Yes, it will be a company in the group. I think the hedge fund is looking to sell on both companies in a couple of years. Together they have more value. They are only in for the short term.

CCFC Ltd administrator charges over £444k

The report also shows that the liquidator has filed a confidential report on the conduct of the directors to the government’s Department for Business Innovation and Skills – in accordance with the Company Directors Disqualification Act. Me too!

    Are the play-offs still on?

A handy way to estimate how many games it will take to catch up with the leaders: Calculate the points difference. The result will roughly be the number of games needed to win in-a-row. We are currently 9 points off the play-off - so it will take us 9 wins in a row to catch up. Say we do win...

    Some basic ricoh questions

Yes - assets is the key word here. The liability is countered by an asset. In this case the loan (liability) is countered by the value of lease (asset). Wasps is buying ACL for £2.77mx2 = £5.5m - that's the purchase price. On top they seem to pay £1m to extend the lease, which increases the...

    Some basic ricoh questions

I think the £24m was to get out of - or buy into - the joint venture with Compass. As it is now Wasps get 23% of that joint venture through their ownership of ACL.

    WARNING: Shocking Uncut Video

He seems a bit angry. Is he angry? Seriously, that's the passion I want to see in a manager. Hope the players get the message.

    Some basic ricoh questions

Not necessarily - they can increase depreciation, pay out management fees, pay higher interests on inter-company loans etc.

    Some basic ricoh questions

Careful now - high blood pressure leads to all kind of terminal diseases. I am not talking politics - and never have on this board. The original contract between ACL and the club was wearing the club down. Even more so now when FFP regulations has been implemented. The rent conditions seems to...

    Some basic ricoh questions

And even if 'super rent' still exists there will be ways around it. Profit can in most circumstances be 'reduced' through various accountant techniques.

Or why it was necessary to break the lease.

    Some basic ricoh questions

I don't think ACL pays any rent. ACL bought the lease and paid cash (mortgaged at YB). Money from naming rights goes to ACL - that'll be Wasps then. I don't think your third line is a question.

    ACL chairman forced to resign

This is a bit inaccurate: The chances of Coventry City Football Club’s owners securing a half share in the Ricoh Arena company seem increasingly unlikely after it was revealed Premiership rugby side Wasps would have to approve their latest bid. Wasps cannot approve or disapprove the bid. They...

    ACL chairman forced to resign

ACL will most likely continue as the business it is only the ownership change. ACL will become part of the Wasps group just as it would become a company under SBS&L if sisu had bought it. Replacing the chairman - and probably all directors - is common when a company gets a new owner.

    ACL chairman forced to resign

Yes, it would be in the shareholders agreement - or Joint Venture Agreement (JVA). The document sisu were not allowed to see before they put in their bid.

    ACL chairman forced to resign

Probably one of the shareholders (I hazard the guess it's not AEHC).
