i was young in the 70s, but remember how grim it was. my dad seemed to spend half the decade out of work. music was great, though. particularly punk, post punk, new wave... loved it then, still love it now.

just read on the beeb website that alan hansen is in hospital "seriously ill".

in japan you can't have a car unless you can demonstrate you have somewhere to keep it. i've been to japan, and needless to say, they don't have cars parked all over the roads and kerbs etc. add some decent public transport to that policy, and i'm sure things would improve massively.
