    Leicester At It Yet Again!

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-handed-financial-boost-10355889 We covered this on here before the season started. It was why I thought they would struggle this season as the loans were needed just to keep them going. They have even cashed in...

    Three New Contracts

A lot of it comes down to not taking too much of a risk but strengthening at the same time. Those clubs going back down with an unsustainable wage bill are those that have the biggest problems. They then have to sell and rebuild. This season was all about continuity and I wouldn't want to change it.

    Three New Contracts

If you overspend and end up with a massive wage bill you have to reduce your wage bill or you become another Leicester or similar. We all know those that are our bit players. They will be the first out the door. Those seen as our 1st team presently should be kept unless we get any good offers...

    Three New Contracts

In the Prem you can have up to 25 players but only up to 17 that are not seen as 'home grown'. We would need Rushworth and Onyeka for starters to have a chance of even competing occasionally. Let's say we go for gold and invest £100m in our squad in transfer fees alone. That's an average of...

    Three New Contracts

Bidwell and Allen have been great servants for our club. They have helped us to get where we are and can be relied on when needed. Always train hard and don't complain when not in the side. If we get promoted this season JDS will be similar. He will have a part to play whenever needed. You...

Match Thread Coventry City - Middlesbrough Match Thread - Monday 16th Feb

So good you had to say it twice 😂 It isn't about the style of play. It's more about the players available for the style of play. You've just seen the difference Onyeka has made against a side beating everyone in their last 6 games. If he stays fit we'te a different animal.

The truth is a lot more simpler. A 'tweak' or two was much needed but can only be done with the players available. We now have Onyeka which allows us to play on the front foot whilst still being able to attack as we do without worrying about the counter attack.

    Are we better than Wolves?

They have given up. We showed last game we're up for it. If the same question was given about Leicester a year ago what would the replies have been? Wouldn't surprise me if Wolves do similar to Leicester next season.

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 21st Feb

That's the point many seem to be missing. The aim this season was to get Promotion although most couldn't see it happening. But because we totally exceed their expectations in the 1st half of the season anything but 1st is now seen as a disaster. Lampard has been talking about this for a few...

Us saying 2nd is acceptable isn't our players accepting 2nd. Of course they want to go up as champions of the Championship. Our last game against Middlesbrough showed how much it means to them.

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 21st Feb

It's what they have done the last 2 games with 0-0 each time. This year so far 8 games 5 defeats 3 draws. Scored 4 goals. Would love to see them attack us as we would take them to the cleaners, but the teams near the bottom are as hard to beat as those near the top of the table. You only have to...

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 21st Feb

It's a funny old game. Before the season started I predicted we would finish 2nd to 4th because we were starting the season with a settled squad and side.and constantly got told how clueless I am by the normal suspects who thought 6th place at best. Now these same people go off on one because...

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 21st Feb

Who is aiming for 2nd? We're aiming to win as many games as we can and that's all we can do. Middlesbrough won 6 on the bounce and could go on a run like that again. Thinking anything differently is being too confident. But saying you'd be happy with 2nd isn't giving up on 1st. Giving up on 1st...

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 21st Feb

Before we played Middlesbrough they had won their last 6 games including against the Blunts. We're so lucky to have a player like Onyeka who showed how good he is in the Prem until Brentford replaced him with big money signings. I'm not saying it will be easy but I'm a lot more confident with...

    Championship thread 25/26!

They are now under Championship rules so can't continue buying anyone they fancy unless their TV rights are massive. If they are, they won't need more massive investments. They have 2 more seasons to get promotion to the Prem before the problems could start.

    Championship thread 25/26!

And that's why they are. Just like it isn't really fair between the Championship and the Prem. The difference between League One and the Championship has never really mattered before until last season where 2 teams bought promotion. Birmingham spent so much that they would be in trouble under...

    Championship thread 25/26!

I suppose the Championship rules are the same as the Premiership rules so Leicester were right to question their punishment. I'll leave it to the experts on here.

    Championship thread 25/26!

Definitely correct there. Any side in the top 16 can make the playoffs and 8th are only 6 points off 4th.

The rules are there. Or how else have Birmingham got away with spending an absolute fortune like £15m on Stansfield alone when in League One?
