But because of the difference in the rules they get away with last seasons spend.

    Championship thread 25/26!

If true why did the FL change the rules to try and stop more Clubs doing it after last season? What you're saying is under the rules of League One they could spend as much as they like as long as they are given enough money by their owner, but as soon as they get promoted they have suddenly...

They were under different rules then. The £39m loss over 3 years is for FFP in the Championship which is known as profit and sustainability (P&S) League One and League Two Clubs follow the Salary Cost Management Protocol (“SCMP”) These state that Clubs can only spend a fixed percentage of its...

I'm only looking at the top 5 because Derby, Wrexham and Preston are 14 points behind us with 14 games to go. We won't be in the top two if any of them catch us up. I'm not bothered who finishes where as long as we finish in the top two.

Match Thread West Bromwich Albion - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 21st Feb

Just had a look at their league games so far this year. Played 8, won absolutely zero, drawn 3 lost 5 and scored a massive 4 goals. Their last 2 games have been 0-0

    Transfer Rumour Frank Onyeka

This is where the difference in quality between the Prem and the Championship shows. He is Prem quality but a £35m signing is even better. We haven’t even seen the best of him yet. Onyeka will get fitter with game time, and we also have to remember Middlesbrough have a very strong midfield. I...

Look at how many games he played for them. If he wasn't good enough he wouldn't have played anywhere near as many times as he has. He was their first Prem signing IIRC. At least he has shown the doubters how important he will be for us. Slotted straight into place in our biggest game of the...

He was good enough for them until started spending a lot of money in his position. Isn't it strange how quickly supporters forget how he was one of the main players that helped them cement their place in the Prem.

One massive difference was Onyeka. When Middlesbrough started roughing us up he took an early yellow for us to put them in their place. He was all over the pitch giving them a hard time. He's one of them players that didn't stand out like Sakamoto or Wright did but he made us more solid at the back.

We played defensively and on the break, just like what most of our opponents have been doing to us. It was a great defensive display which didn't give them many good chances.

Best side we've seen at our place all season. You can see why they were on a 6 game winning run. We only had 28.5% possession at home. We have played much better but have been slated for being poor because we haven't scored and been hit on the break. If Wright didn't have his shooting boots on...

    Boro player ratings

What a massive difference to what was expected by many. We've been unlucky recently but everything fell into place for once. 6 wins out of 6? As we showed we don't have anything to worry about except for ourselves. Onyeka? Absolute class. Just what we needed. Maybe now the doubters will start...

    Wright

6 goals in 5 games. He is like us and wish we could play them every week. Not bad considering they are the 2nd best team in the Championship.

I'm just glad that most on here don't choose the side.

A great performance, but what did we learn from this game? Onyeka, our most experienced player, is on a different level. He wasn't just a player who helped keep Brentford up in their first season in the Prem. He is just a solid all rounder. Not only was he class but he took a yellow to show...
