    Germany Ghana !!

See my other post, Wingy. Euro 2016 thread. Not showing Germany any respect. Showing no fear and not at all in awe of them. Take note, England!

    England v Costa Rica

Sounds like I don't rate Walcott, but in fact I do. He is unpredictable at times and he does have a good footballing brain when it comes to movement. Shows a great deal of intelligence at times off the ball.

Can England Win Euro 2016 ?

Good case in point again tonight. Ghana are showing no fear in the game against the Germans. No respect or awe. They are giving them a good game so far and making a real fist of it. Now put England in Ghana's shoes tonight. Would we be showing no fear or respect against the Germans?

    England v Costa Rica

Walcott's touch lets him down though. Sometimes I think he just puts his head down and runs and hopes for the best, with the bal bouncing off his shins have the time. And the thing is about Johnson, he is finished. Can't see him ever playing for England again, so why play him on Tuesday? I...

Can England Win Euro 2016 ?

I think an awful lot of it comes down to belief and not giving other teams too much respect. I think sometimes we look and think Ooh, It's Italy, they are a good side. France! Germany. They have top players. Too much respect for other teams and a lack pf self belief in ourselves. I bet no USA...

    England v Costa Rica

No Sterling? :o I'd like to see both Ox and Sterling play. Both really quick and have the ability to terrorise defences. I'd give Jones another go at right back. Simply based on the fact that I think Johnson is far too past his best to ever play for England again.

    England v Costa Rica

Interesting from training today? BBC reporting that at the training session today both first team fullbacks and Gerrard sat out and watched. Oxlade-Chamberlain and Luke Shaw in.

    England - Euro's 2016

My missus has said she wants to go on holiday in France, but I have always been against it. She has absolutely no idea about any football tournaments anywhere, so I may just suggest I've had a change of heart and maybe we should go the year after next!

    Argentina v Iran

My missus just came out with a daft comment. She walked in the front room and saw the Messi goal and asked who he played for. I said Argentina. She said 'Does he always play for Argentina? Never for England?'

    Argentina v Iran

England have a habit of showing too much respect for a team at times. Teams like Iran and Costa Rica and Austrailia just forget about that and give it a bit of a go.

Can England Win Euro 2016 ?

Yep. Was expecting him to be the main cog in the England wheel. The player who made things tick and controlled and ran games. Sometimes he can disappear a bit from games. He's still young though and he does have a good footballing brain and a bit of skill about him and is very comfortable on...

Can England Win Euro 2016 ?

I do rate Wilshere. Jury still out on him at international level though. I really like him as a player, but he has been a bit headless chicken at times for England and lost the ball in key areas. Sturridge I like, but while he will score I don't feel he is the natural finisher we need. Much...

Thanks Stu. Very incisive, in depth and well reasoned.

    England approach Roy Hodgson

Arry reminds me somewhat of Bobby Gould. Think he'd be great in the dressing room and in interviews, but tactically would fall well short of what would be required.

Can England Win Euro 2016 ?

Nope. Course not. Don't get this 'all these talented youngsters' the press and pundits are going on about. What ALL talented youngsters? Had we had a teamfull I would of course be optimistic, but when you look back to 2006 (Beckham, Rooney, Ferdinand, Neville, Ashley Cole, Owen, Lampard, Terry...

    England approach Roy Hodgson

Nope. At the time I thought he was a good choice. To be quite honest I havent been that unhappy with him until this tournament. The Pirlo thing really annoyed me and I wasn't happy with some of the players he took either. Right choice then, now time for him to step down I feel.

Thought for a moment there you were breaking into a Who song.

    England v Costa Rica

Costa Rica though will now surely not play their first 11. They will want to get through without injury or suspensions. Only thing that can get worse for England is if Costa Rica play their second 11 and still soundly beat us. That happens and I do think Hodgson is going to get a hell of a lot...
