    New stadium - Let's suppose for a minute ....

Forget about whether or not the new stadium idea has previously been pure fantasy for a minute and think about here and now if the Ricoh is sold. Suppose now Sisu believe the only way forwards is a new stadium, because they simply cannot get their hands on the Ricoh. What are the obstacles...

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

Surely access there would be a complete nightmare! Could you imagine thousands of cars heading down there on a Saturday afternoon?

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

A move to Coventry’s Ricoh Arena, either permanently or just for one-off games, has been heavily mooted in the press, but the club insist they are still exploring a number of options. This was 3 days ago from the Wycombe press. If this is current news, then I feel tomorrow may just be a...

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

Depends which part of Courtauld's he means. The part of the corner of Foleshill Road has now been developed. There were 2 parts to Courtauld's.

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

Nope. They would turn a blind eye again. God knows what the answer is! If our owners won't bid and are determined to leave then I feel we will further decline. If we stay at the Ricoh on a rent deal there may well be no chance of any sustained future success and we'll just drift along. We...

    Ricoh platform

You mean all those people have been working cash in hand for the past month?

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

But none of us believe they will build a new stadium, so it either means having to stay at the Ricoh or relinquishing ownership doesn't it? Or back to Sixfields.

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

Ooh, you'd have the leather elbowed patch brigade down on us like a tonne of bricks!

Totally agree. That is why I think that if we were to build a much cheaper, much smaller stadium somewhere, a degree of hope will be lost and I think we will lose supporters as a result. It may well seem like cutting our cloth, but then also lowering our targets and we can hardly even say we...

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

Yep. Already stuff built now. I can't think of anywhere else, apart from Ansty Park. That's still in Coventry isn't it?

Well, true. Even if they are viable without a sports team here, from their perspective it is just daft to let a top class, first rate stadium go to ruin isn't it?

Another thought just came to mind, surely the lower the gates Wasps get here, the more they are going to need CCFC aren't they?

Wonder if anyone has done any research as to how many fans Wasps lost when they moved home games to Wycombe?

    Protest Tuesday

Just wondering if Wasps fans come out pretty much as one and say they won't come to games here, whether their owners might have a re-think, or at least water down the proposal somewhat. Could it possibly be that it might just be reduced to some big European games anyway? Wasps surely have to...

Yep. That above statement though, I really don't think anyone on here was as calm when Sixfields was announced for us. Like I say, maybe a different breed. Would guess Wasps fans are the most irked. think they will lose thousands of fans if they do plonk the club here in Coventry.

Quite surprising some of the comments. When we were told of Northampton we were indeed spitting blood and full of anger and outrage. I've seen a few comments on the Cov forum, such as this and it did surprise me somewhat. Personally I'd hope we never have a cuckoo in the nest team called...

Not trying to be funny, but have just gone over to the Cov rugby forum and most of them don't seem as up in arms as some on here make out. It's quite balanced I think and not a lot of spitting blood. Maybe rugby fans are a different breed, but I was expecting total outrage and found it's very...

Well, that's my concern. Where does such a site exist?

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

Just how long have they been saying they have identified land or will be able to announce very shortly the details of the new stadium? Why do you think they haven't? Because there is no new stadium. If there is now to be one because they feel they have got no other choice, I cannot see it being...

Mick Quinn: Deal with WASPS includes deal for CCFC to remain at Ricoh

Surely if it just meant the 4 years, then the wording would be 'honouring' the agreement for Coventry City to play there. Staying at the Ricoh to me points to a long term agreement.
