We are in no position to offer out hundreds of thousands pounds a year in pity contracts.

This is a good start for a super wealthy tax proposal: Millionaires call on governments worldwide to ‘tax us now’ | Davos | The Guardian Would raise £43bn a year. Which is roughly what the size of the hole Truss opened up in the budget is I think.

That’s actually a very fair point under that scenario Johnson wouldn’t be an MP so his support is moot 😁

Id agree we never should have offered Kelly the extension, been a total waste of budget. I think Godden has the sort of record that he’s worth having around for even half a season. I wouldn’t have him as first choice but I’d rather have him on the bench than any of our other strikers. If No...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Sure. But if they get in and propose massive unfunded day to day spending then the markets will rightly or wrongly react badly. And everyone will go “I knew Labour were as bad as Truss” and that’ll be that. Doesnt mean they can’t make a big difference, just that they won’t be able to spend what...

Just saying it’s not fair to claim both him and Kelly will have done nothing for two seasons. I honestly would t be surprised if Godden is second too goal scorer again this season. Whether that’s a commendation of Godden or a condemnation of the rest of the squad I’ll leave you to decide.

I think what will do for Johnson is that under Sunak it’s the “red wall” seats they’re mostly likely to lose. Saw some research this morning showing it’s the more left economically voters that Johnson brought in who are deserting them. A lot of Johnson’s power base was the 2019 intake that owed...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Im saying radical economics may not go down well. I think the first term Labour are going to have to show they aren’t mental. They’re going to have to balance day to day spending, which was the issue with the tax cuts. So they’ll need to find extra revenue from somewhere if they don’t want...

I think the right angle is going to be “why is this very rich man not getting his very rich mates to pay for the mistake his other mates made?” Labour need some serious proposals on taxing the very wealthy that Sunak will find hard to argue against thanks to being one of the very wealthy.

I expect us to go three across the middle with Palmer off Vik again. I’m just really impatient for that midfield.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Worst timeline is events company comes in and Sisu don’t fuck off and keep us on life support for god knows what reason. So that’s probably what’ll happen.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Its hope all the way down. Guess the feeling is a sale is more likely if Sisu have the arena than say NEC. obviously the ideal is a billionaire takes both. But it sounds like yet again for whatever reason the area has been doused in billionaire repellant spray.

Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

If the history of this stuff has taught me anything it’s that unless when questioned a relevant party says “yes we have an enforceable legal agreement regarding that” they don’t. See also “Wasps can’t kick out CCFC” and “We have got guarantees on the pitch”. Duggins answer last week didn’t make...
