Exactly, we and other countries either want to stem the transmission or not. No innovative thinking here or across the world (or at least Europe). At least Secondary schools (bit late for unis) moved to online learning, which would allow parents to still work for example. The whole of Europe...

I think schools will remain open though, which just appears bizarre under current circumstance (based of the varied evidence). My worry is this will not be a 3-4 circuit breaker but turn into an extended lockdown. Let’s hope/pray for some good vaccine/treatment news soon !!! Ps fair play to you...

I usually avoid the school stuff as I’m not a teacher and there’s obviously a fair few on here that are but I checked with a teacher mate about this (as I couldn’t quite believe it) and this is what he said.... ‘Well obviously they should move to online teaching as soon as year groups are off...

I agree, as you and others have said, the other elements appear to be just fiddling round the edges

Certainly doing that in unis and secondary schools would make sense in high transmission areas. It’s the same all over Europe though. France and Germany are currently announcing new, tighter ‘lockdowns’ but leaving schools open I think
