Same for me, and I guess for a number of posters on here.

    4000 to Notts County Possible?

Why, what happened? We were congratulated by good natured Spurs fans after the game. ‘Well done Cov’ comments like that. Mind you, we live near Newcastle, and on the trip home up the A1, we took dog’s abuse from Sunderland fans travelling in the same direction, after their defeat at Wimbledon...

    Coventry City away support

To be fair, I’m going back maybe 3 seasons, we lost, I think 1-0, and at the end of the game our players were badly abused by a sizeable minority of Coventry ‘fans’.

    Coventry City away support

I must admit, whenever I go away I’m praying for a good performance, not just for the result, but because I’ve seen the toxic reaction when we lose and play badly (Bury, Rochdale, Oxford spring to mind). I also, of course, remember good occassions (Mansfield, Crewe, Wolves). It’s a shame the...

    Old Coventry Shirts

I’ve just looked up the meaning of your ‘handle’ - I’ve never been to Greece, so my education is obviously incomplete!!

    McNulty

Well, it may depend on whether we get promoted. I’m not sure that any Championship club will come in for him, and he would then be playing League 1 with us, so why would we sell to another League 1 club? So let’s hope it falls in to place for us!

    Player ratings

It’s the negativity of the comments that are disappointing, no half measures, no allowance for some of the good things Burge does, just focus on mistakes, or, yawn, kicking.

    Favourite ever goal?

Ah, Graham Westley, thank you, a very similar type of Manager to Greyson, I think. Yes, credit to the ref, I think it was. About the 96th minute we scored. City deserved that - and so did Preston!

    Favourite ever goal?

What a great goal that was, and what a feeling. Preston were 1-0 up and time wasting for England - their players, the ball boys, and even the fans when the ball went into the stands. I also thought that they were a mean spirited team (Simon Greyson the Manager?) so when we scored right at the...

Match Thread Coventry City at Crewe Alexandra Match Thread - Saturday 17th Mar

Spot on! An excellent performance, deserved more goals, but although you can never be sure at 2-1, they didn’t pressurise us that much. You could see how they like to play football, keeping it on the floor, but they lacked a cutting edge. Our central defenders were very strong, won everything...

    Ken Dodd.... rip

Blimey, I was there, but can’t remember that. I was 7, and can’t even remember much about the game. Think it was miserable weather, foggy? Yes, as has been said, just about the last of that era. Very funny, did good work for charity, not many people with that amount of success die in the house...

    Any update on baker?

By then, my parents had dragged me to live in deepest, darkest, rural Norfolk, and I’d started working in a Bank. We were working with oil lamps and closing early. As a young kid, I thought it was great! Did we win that Man City game?

    Any update on baker?

Yeh, you’re right, improved technology was going to give us all a 3 day week, and improved leisure time, for the same money. By the time I finished work, I was working all God’s hours, and was always too knackered to enjoy any leisure time I did have. The closest we ever got to a regular 3 day...
