Rumour: Hoffman and Elliot takeover negotiations

Isn't it pointing out the hypocrisy of the CET's stance against our move to Northampton compared to the complete opposite of Wasps move to Coventry?

    Problems Started Years Ago!

He was manager of Derby at the time. There are a few theories over the whole episode like he wanted more money & was undervalued by Derby chairman or he couldn't work with Jimmy Hill

    Problems Started Years Ago!

Just read an article probably from Giblet's book that says that ACL didn't choose Pel seating (McGinnity's business) cause they were too expensive & McGinnity wasn't happy

    Problems Started Years Ago!

Not sure if McGinnity's family firm was involved in installing the seats at the Ricoh. He was instrumental in the sale of Highfield Road (with Robinson I think) and another of his family's businesses may have been involved with the building of houses/flats on the HR site. Nothing dodgy there at all

    Problems Started Years Ago!

No that was McGinnity. Whoever was chairman at the time voted for the introduction of all-seater stadium & I think McGinnity's family business was one of or the main seat installers across the country

    Not replacing Mowbray

We have been in a downward spiral for too long and our response every 15-18 months is to change the manager and start again. We have no long term planning concerning the team and every season we seem to sign 8-10 players and hope they gel. It is not all down to budget as there are teams at the...

    Good old films

The old Indian has some great lines in The Outlaw Josey Wales. "I didn't surrender but they took my horse off me and made him surrender" and in response to Josey saying something like "People never stay around when I get to liking them" he says "I've noticed when you get to disliking folks they...

    John Sillett Interview

We sold out the away end and Villa wouldn't give us any more tickets. Someone from CCFC,maybe even Howe, suggested we should go in the home end and there was probably around 1,000 in the corner at the start of the game. Weren't they all moved to the away end after about 5 minutes?

    John Sillett Interview

Wasn't there talk of Regis & Peake getting involved with Sillett? The memory of Don Howe sends a shudder down my spine. The loss at Villa on the last day of 91-92 when we were fighting for survival is up there with the worst performances I have seen as we lacked fight, committment & effort and...

    John Sillett Interview

We watched it back a couple of times and it didn't come a cross as humorous, if that's how he meant it then I apologise. I'm surprised nobody else saw it

    John Sillett Interview

I agree Butcher was a disaster & I think we paid him 2 wages as a player and a manager which he refused to re-negotiate when his playing career was over, after 5 games ffs!!!!, which led to Butcher going. I don't agree that Sillett's sacking was the catalyst for the position we find ourselves in...

    John Sillett Interview

Sorry if there is a thread already about this but I couldn't find it. On my way down to Wembley I stopped over at my friend's house in Rugby and he had recorded a piece about Coventry at Wembley on either Sky or BBC Midlands which I don't have up here and it included an interview with John...
