Exactly- all speculation. I was pointing out a scenario where a "bidding war" would not happen. Even if 15m is "the acceptable price", then all clubs offer 15, then individual contract offers are what would sway a player towards a club.

The thing is though, if there is a release clause of say , 9.5 mil, as has been speculated, any club that offers that, the player can speak to. If Fulham offer 15, and say 30k pw but Leeds offer 9.5 and offer 50k pw, both bids are accepted by the club and it is then down to the player, I believe.

Better player than Maddison was when we had him in League 1. Would, at the stage we had him, would he have been as effective as Hamer in the Championship?? Had Thompson in mind G, very good, but was he technically better than Hamer? There is an argument there I agree. With higher quality...

Deserves his own thread. Technically a superb player- in my opinion our best since relegation from the Premier League, including better than some of the players that actually played for us in the top division! Will be a massive loss!

One thing worth remembering/taking into account, is that the transfer window, ridiculously shuts seven games into the season!!!!!

Yeah, that's what I said in my post. I thought that may be a positive for him. Speculating, but maybe purchase of club, plus ground hasn't left a satisfactory playing/staff budget that he is happy with....??
