Match Thread Middlesbrough - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 25th Nov

Have it your way. But when we crash out of a cup competition and have 2/3 bad injuries then form drops and we lose an auto spot, come and talk to me then. It's not all about football anymore, its a business. On this scenario I would seriously consider fielding the b team so to speak as much as...

Match Thread Middlesbrough - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 25th Nov

My worry as is every year and often proven right....the FA Cup. I would rather draw a tough game, lose it and be out of the competition and all focus on the league. We are in our best position for 25 years and we should be looking to keep players as fit as possible, not playing extra games...

Match Thread Middlesbrough - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 25th Nov

Wolfy and Rudi on the bench. Not yet ready from the off. Would be slightlu unfair to see Eccles lose his place but I think Asante should come back in and be busy around Simms shoulder. Wright not fit. DaSilva my need a break, but I'd be very reluctant to make too many changes. Play him for 60...

Watch the tape. Kitching ball watching. Especially the second one.

Just a note on the 2 goals we gave away. Kitching was caught twice sleeping, and his effort to defend the first one, very poor. he poses no threat up for set pieces (unlike Thomas, who again got the assist for Simms) Time for Wolfy me thinks.

Match Thread Coventry City v WBA Sat 22nd November 25 12.30 KO

One thing that stands out for me is the confidence in the team that we will score, so no ones head drops when we go behind. When it was 0-2 they still kept their heads and kept up the relentless attack. And sure enough we score, and inevitably we would get another. What was impressive was the...

Should be a win all day long. I sense FL has to re-still the target and get the players hunger going again. The last few games have not be all that good and focus must be a priority so any complacency does not creep in. Nothing for free in this league. 2-0

If you were offered second now ...

Who cares? Automatic promotion via an offide goal or whatever we would all take. Come on now. As for getting thrashed if we go up? Utter nonsense. Sunderland doing well and we have some very good talent now not to mention strong additions being added should we make it.

Match Thread Stoke City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 8th Nov

Rudoni will not feature. Best way in this one is attack. Robin's we know will set up not to be beat. They are a good defensive unit. Score few goals (the last two games a rare exception, and if you watch the highlights it was shocking defending by the opposition) I expect a tight game with us...

Match Thread Stoke City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 8th Nov

Stoke under robin's have done remarkably well so far. They are not prolific in front of goal, and though they hit a few the last couple of games , it says more about the opposition than Stoke. Robin's typically sets up to not lose first and formost in a game like this. (boy would he love to win...

MOTM: Thomas Big shout out: Sakamoto Other worthy notables: Grimes & Rushworth Disappointment: Wright Most unfortunate: Simms I think we got this.

Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield United Match Thread - Tuesday 4th Nov

We played 15 minutes second half and won the game. After that we didn't need to raise our game. Good sides come back and do what we did tonight. Results largely with us elsewhere but what about Stokes? Looking like they are staying the course and getting stronger. Just imagine if we and Robin's...

too passive. We must get back on it. EMC is a miss on the left and Asante needs to ber down the middle causing havoc. That's what's changed.

    Championship relegation candidates?

I was taking a look at the foot of the table. Norwich in deep pooh, Wednesday unlikely to recover. For me apart from those two I'd say Derby, Oxford, as favourites right now. I worry for Southampton but think they will have too much. Shefield Utd will recover without doubt for me. I think Pompey...

Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield United Match Thread - Tuesday 4th Nov

Hope Thomas is back tbh. Wolf was dire. Torp back, Milan back, DaSilva back and we are back to near normal. Utd recovery is still on but still worrying at the same time if they don't perform again. Hopefully Hamer is out and we can do what top teams do, and show Wrexham was a blip and normal...

Match Thread Wrexham AFC - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 31st Oct

When I saw the team sheet I wanted to change my previous prediction. Forced changes are one thing but it just lacked all the balance we had previously. They stiffled us with 5 in midfield, and we had no get out with Torp off the field. It was always going to be a gun ho performance from Wrexham...

Match Thread Wrexham AFC - Coventry City Match Thread - Friday 31st Oct

Can't see any real issue against this lot. We should come out winners. We start fast, keep the ball and we run away with it in the first 45 minutes. 0-4

Match Thread Coventry City - Watford FC Match Thread - Saturday 25th Oct

Just because we won does not mean we can't critique the day. There are obvious drop offs the last couple of games, but we have been too good overall regardless. Momentum, and continued motivation are required when the team look as if they may afterall be a little vunerable as injuries, a touch...

Match Thread Coventry City - Watford FC Match Thread - Saturday 25th Oct

I understand people's concerns with today's performance. It was a very odd kind of game. But lets keep it sensible. Watford had a few very good opportunities, but failed to put them away. That apart, I don't recall many 'raids' on our goal? That's not withstanding a bit of a lacklustre second...
