    Incoming - Tyler Walker

I may have missed something, but is Dabo going to be fit for the season start? With DaCosta, he’s got a knee ligament injury, is it an ACL or MCL? The latter would have him out for about 6-8 weeks, and we all know what ACLs are like... Pask is a good, but probably not a long term solution if we...

    Incoming - Tyler Walker

In our circumstances, there isn’t going to be many better options on the market for us. Prolific in the lower leagues, a few Championship goals and is 23 years old. Early stages, there’s a lot to like about this transfer.

We need to have a strong core of 18-21 players to compete, different options and strength in depth to cover injuries. Frankly, we need to address the WB slots. Probably still need a permanent option at LWB, definitely need cover at RWB too. CM is still a need, someone like Sheaf is what we...

    Incoming - Tyler Walker

Just realised that Tyler Walker was 1 goal behind Toney in January. Toney went on to finish very strongly in a free-scoring P’boro side. But, given that P’boro want £5-10m for Toney, we’ve got a striker who is very good value for money, in my opinion. Does anyone have an idea of what we paid...

    Mid Table finish?

We’ve got a few things going for us, so I think we may survive this season. I’d live for us to be mid table, but a lot of promoted teams have struggled with the step up. That said, around the bottom of the table there is a lot of dysfunctional teams. In the end, I’d take anything above 22nd!

Agreed. But, I’m happy to have both strikers! They could make a good pairing because, as you say, you have Walker’s athleticism mixed with Gooden’s good positioning.

    This years 'wildcard'

You’re right. Today, Walker and Gooden are our top two choices this year. Baka looks like he’s got a bit more about him this preseason. It’s also probably his last year to prove himself to be worthy of a new contract. I’d like for him to out and perform really well this year.

    This years 'wildcard'

I’d like Jones to have a really big season, it’ll be a heart warming story that he’s recovered from two, back-to-back ACLs, and come back to perform well in the Championship. More realistically, Gooden is a bit of a wildcard and think he could score quite a lot of goals in this league.

A lot of people fancied Lincoln to be up near the playoffs in fairness. He had the opportunity to play with his best mate, Jorge Grant too. In fairness to him, it was a good loan spell and hopefully he’s developed into a player who can perform for us!

Clubs like ourselves need to sign players who have the ability to step up. Realistically, we probably cannot compete with other Championship teams for proven Championship strikers. I really like this signing, despite rejecting us last season. In L2, he scored 22 in 44. Season after, scored 14...

    New Kit

Seeing the link to our heritage was a nice touch. The kits are growing on me and the neutrals I have shown the home kit rate it.

    JCH

I think there’s more to it than that as Robins seemed fairy desperate to get rid of him. But, we can only speculate. I like JCH as a player, but he never really looked like he was capable of playing to the level he is showing at Bristol Rovers. Firstly, credit to him. Secondly, letting him go...

    Match Thread Burton friendly

That would be leaving it too long for me. Personally, it’s funny that the very next game after the comment was made, JJ scores a screamer. Friendly or not!

Early Season - how do we think it will go ?

We’ve got a few things going for us: - feel good factor at the club (despite the RICOH business) - a lot of players will feel fresher after the long lay off - we’ve got a settled team and system We definitely need to improve in some areas, and I can’t imagine our business is completed yet. I...

    North or South ?

All of my northern friends call us southerners, the southerners think anything north of Watford is ‘The North’. We’re definitely in the middle. For the sake of choosing for cup competition, we’re technically in the north.

No Google - Who scored our last Championship League goal?

Cyrus Christie, Juke, and Cranie for me. Would’ve also taken Keogh had it not been for his injury. The rest of that team is pretty shocking tbh. Joe Murphy was good at the time. Bigi was a spark at the time, but his career nosedived after he left us (both times).

    Jordan Ponticelli

Shame it didn’t come together for JP a with us. Unlucky with injuries and a poor loan move last season. Ultimately, a move makes sense for all parties involved. Personally, I do think he could become a really good L1 striker if he develops well. This move is important for him and I wish him...

    Callum Wilson Where to next

Bourneouth have a massive hole to fill. Just in transfer fees, they have ~£80m owed time other clubs and around ~£5m owed to them. Whilst they have the parachute payments, they’re missing out on golden hen that is Premiership TV money. That’s pretty huge for them and they need to manage their...

    Realistic signings

Competing in what sense though? Whilst we're in the same league, we're not going to be competing with them for league position... The goal for us is to establish ourselves as a Championship team and build year-on-year and the budget will grow alongside that (hopefully).
