    Summer transfer window 2024

I don’t think we’ll try and sign Burrows, probably a player who’s unknown on here because a lot of people, myself included, have limited knowledge outside of the EFL/Prem. That said, the Championship and League 1 is producing a lot of reliable talent atm. Maatsen playing well in the UCL semi...

    Summer transfer window 2024

We need a better option than Bidwell and JDS. His contract is expiring and the wrong side of 30 so you want to be improving that position. A left footed MVE is the dream.

It also creates a pressure to potentially sell at a lower value too. If we’ve committed say £15m and we’re nearing some sort of deadline for FFP, we may have to sell to balance books to avoid penalties in the future. Similar to how we sold Hyam under pressure we allegedly accepted a lower bid...

    Ex Player Watch

Frankly, our reserves have been pretty poor for a long while. This season we’ve had players on the bench who could make a difference (Palmer, Sakamoto, Wright and Simms) but as injuries, suspensions and form dips, we’ve ran out. This season we basically started again and this summer we’re...

    Transfer Rumour Godden

My understanding is that I players offered in a part exchange have a value for transfer purposes so it shouldn’t circumvent paying us what is owed.

Squad management is a catch 22 when you’ve had chronically small squads.

    Home attendances

This side of the new year, 3 or 4 of our home games were rearranged because of the FA Cup run. I understand the frustration when games are rearranged to the midweek games, but not to early/late KO at the weekends (and Friday night) really. Again, if you’re ‘outraged’ that FA Cup replays and...

Robins has mentioned quality after every we’ve played the top teams in the division. That’s a comment aimed at all areas of the pitch. If we having all action midfielder like Hamer or Sara in this division is gold dust in this league.

COH didn’t choose to stay to the end of his contract, he was off in Jan 2023 had he not done an ACL. I don’t mind either player wanting to better themselves. Both our 26 and entering their prime so they should be wanting to progress their careers. I genuinely believe both would stay if we got...

    Kieffer Moore

Not getting into a hypothetical debate with you on this. It’s a deal that was never on the table for us at any point. A good player, better suited to Ipswich than ourselves and fair play to him for his form. Less goals than both our options. Wright and Simms have played all the games (more or...

    Kieffer Moore

We were never in the run to sign him so it’s a moot point. Ellis Simms form picked up at the turn of 2024 so we should all agree that not signing a striker in Jan was a blessing in disguise. Going into next season we need a 3rd choice, absolutely.

Yes but you can’t stand in a player’s way really, if you cash in between £15-25m you’ve got enough cash to fund quality players. Add some kickbacks from Hamer and Gyokeres and you’ve got a good war chest. Try being more optimistic, we’ve got a better squad overall than last year.

    Robins on CWR

COH himself is knackered, 17km clocked against Man U, plays more or less 90m against Blackburn and given his injury record, 2 matches per week at this stage of the season is a higher injury risk for him. Yesterday we created enough chances to draw or even win the game, it was our defending that...

Cliches indeed, but it’s true nonetheless. There needs to be a bit of perspective of where we’re actually at. In the many conversations I’ve had on this forum, there’s been times where our depth and quality has been over stated. At this point of the season, the chickens have come to roost...

Which is why we have a 5 year plan and not a 3 year plan! We’ve got to trust the process. The foundations are there and just need building on. If we get £50-60m for Simms, Wright and MVE, it sets the club up for the long term.

Most of those players need to be upgraded upon tbf. Sheaf is a big loss but we’ve had to replace better players (Vik and Gus). Get some windfall from Vik, Hamer and a large fee for Sheaf and that’s a cause for optimism. It’s an opportunity to get the quality and quantity of players we need...

    The sack list

Collins kept us in the game with some good saves, I’m sorry but that isn’t the issue. If you want your GK to play out from the back, they’ll get caught out e.g. Rays v Spurs and Allisson for Liverpool. The team as a whole just aren’t defending as well. Whether or not it’s tactical or...

Who are we bringing on? Super Matty Godden? Our bench has no game changers. It’s just changes for changes sake.

Robins kicking off at the defence, we conceded 12 shots, 9 shots on target in the box. Frustrated with the defending and ‘a lot of work to do’ as reported by @Saddlebrains a week or two ago. Talking about building a squad of more quality and numbers to compete in every competition.
