You won't win owt with kids

Err no?? Calm down dear. Purely curiosity as to whether we could field an entire squad of academy graduates thats all. The one positive (in my view) of the last few seasons is that we have had a few local lads pushing on to the first team.

You won't win owt with kids

I have to hold my hands up and say im not that clued up on our reserve/under 21/whatever you want to call it squad. Just wondered if we could actually put out a full match day squad consisting only of academy graduates and what that might look like. ..............Burge...

    Investment rumour.

True but they still averaged crowds of 30k-ish during their prem season in 2006-07

    Investment rumour.

Very little collateral against which to secure the debt though, the playing squad and a few cones aint worth much

Sheff U would surely be one of the clubs an investor would look at ahead of us...................... biggish fan base, were in the prem not that long ago, finished 5th last term etc etc

    season tickets /regular attendance

No point in me having a season ticket as work and family commitments (and living 120 miles away) mean I can't get to many home games. I am feeling a lot more positive though and will go to as many away games as i can plus the 3 or 4 home games that i usually manage.

    Other income streams

Well, only in as much as the club needs income, to be able to invest in the team, in order to perform better on the pitch. So either supporters take a leap and buy season tickets by their thousands and pack the Ricoh every single week OR the club generates income by other means (or put their...

    Can't argue with that.

    Other income streams

I'm not saying that we should or shouldn't. The club needs a greater level of income in order to make it sustainable. The chance to own the Ricoh has gone and building a new stadium looks to be far from straightforward so surely we must consider alternatives.

    Other income streams

I agree about the need for a "home" in order to build the brand and focus attention. Its just a question of whether that can be achieved within the confines of a rental agreement with Wa.... that rugby club. Perhaps if we were generating income from housing/retail/hotel etc independently of our...

    Realistic good signings.

I'd be happy with Loach as first choice keeper, would prefer Lonergan though. I'd take Peter Clarke and while we are picking over Blackpools misfortune id also take David Perkins.

    Other income streams

Crikey, i never expected such a response, it was just curiosity on my part really. For the record I'm certainly not against us having our own stadium (or a share in the Ricoh), just wondered whether income could be generated from other sources.

    Aspirations

I think the knives would be out from some sections of the crowd regardless of what he said. I have no doubt the knives will be out at some point this season even if we are doing well. I am not saying we arent capable of promotion this season, all teams are before the season begins, but i also...

I might be talking out of my arse here but I was reading something this morning that sparked half an idea in the 'ol grey matter. The article was about a small business that had diversified in order to survive the crash, realising that their premises were only used for their core business...

    McFarlane's Staying Then.

They seem to be sticking with Moniz. Would have thought Pressley will be looking for a job North of the border.

I'd sooner get shot of Fisher and move Waggott to chairman or whatever it is Timmy does............

    Aspirations

You think? Im not so sure, all his statements have been quite cautious and he said himself that he wanted a 2 year deal because by the second season he will have built a squad of the right shape and quality. Im all for optimism but i dont want to be reading posts on here after Xmas whining if we...

Perhaps I should be aiming higher but to be honest i'll just take NOT being involved in a relegation battle.

Well since Waggott took a more hands on role i have heard a lot less from Dim Tim so for that reason alone i'm happy

    Mowbray's first press conference

I'm assuming he just means Stokes, Reda, Tudgay & Lawton. Just out of interest, how long is Maddisons contract?
