    Carl Baker. Wow.

I agree, I think at 60/70 minutes Elliot was my MOTM, but the final 20 minutes and extra time was all about Baker. Nevertheless, Elliot was superb, never stopped running and you're absolutely right, has a lot more pace then I'd realised. It's just his class on the ball that surprised me most...

    Burton Albion

To be honest mate, I'd rather a good cup run in the League Cup, which is mildly respected. A day at Wembley would be nice, but the JPT should be for the younger players and if we do well then fantastic, but if not then I'm not too bothered.

    The Cark Baker Show

His assist for the second goal was quality, great skill to beat two defenders in a tight situation. Incredibly harsh to criticise after a performance like that.

    Great game

I think the atmosphere was a bit better, and the quality of opposition forced us to raise our game. Some players in the side have been coasting a little up until now, and tonight they proved they can perform at a higher level.

Well it's JPT isn't it? So either way I'm not overly worried. Hoping we field our younger players for that one

    Carl Baker. Wow.

I know he's been accredited in other threads, but my god. What a performance! Literally ran rings around Brum tonight. His finest hour (or 2) in football I'm sure! Against Sheff Utd I was very critical, against Bury he was good, but tonight he was the player that we were promised when we...

    3-5-2

Would drop Kilbane, he's been a passenger in our midfield in the opening three games, looks like he may prove to be another Tim Sherwood!

I'm not suggesting he's an awful manager, I just don't think he's the right man for the job. Leicester, Norwich, Southampton and Leeds (Pearson, Lambert, Adkins and Grayson). These are the sort of managers we should be looking at, previously, successfully, managed at lower league and all have...

Nope, I was told I was incorrect on a previous post, and I'm just proving that what I said was not incorrect (That Poyet was heavily influential in Leeds' success and when he left for Spurs their good form and season gradually fell apart). I also said Boothroyd and Coleman were each successful...

Grendel, when someone points out your argument is flawed, do you just try and protect your ego by ignoring it?

sacking AT is a terrible decision

There's actually been a lot of criticism of the sacking, I for one think it's an unfair decision.

Players been given a team talk by SISU representative

The bonus' in football are ridiculous. I've got a mate who plays professionally, and if you make the match day squad it's like a £500 bonus immediately, another grand if you start and if you come off the bench another £500.

Apologies for the dyphemism, just aided my compelling argument..

Yeah they are impressive statistics. However I feel at Leeds this was largely due to Poyet, this is certainly the general consensus amongst Leeds fans, and you'll be surprised to hear that I might be correct. You say Poyet left Leeds in late October..and until then Leeds had won every game bar...

Yeah you could say that, but you could also say that when Clough took over at Leeds they were English Champions, not in League 1.

    Thankyou Andy Thorn

Well we were favourites for relegation with bookmakers before the season started. This after having the core of our team ripped out (Westwood, Turner, Gunnarsson and King) We had 5 teenagers regularly in the side and more on the bench. In January we sold our only player that could score (which...

    Thankyou Andy Thorn

It doesn't throw my train of thought. A very plausible explanation is that we lost our 4 best players in his first summer in charge, and were favourites for relegation with the bookies before a ball was kicked. Consequently less people renewed their season tickets. As we had a much weaker...

Coleman did a good job at Fulham, Boothroyd did a better job at Watford than Wise did with Millwall. Can't draw assumptions from his spell at Millwall, Poyet was the man at Leeds, when he left for Spurs they fell apart. I'd be gutted if Wise got the job.
