I just think the U23 standard is so low you may as well use Nuneaton Town as a feeder club instead. At least the games mean something and you’re playing against men.
I’d get rid of the U23s. Kids who hit pro terms either on loan or training with the first team. Arrange friendlies if you want match practice but for me either you’re developing them with training or you’re getting them first team experience.
Saw a tweet about the NFL and how they’re going to expand the number of games but players don’t have to play more than X-2 of them. I can see that being the next step to justify inflated squads.
Whole thing needs looking at. Small internet service tax, fund local and national news and quality broadcasting properly. The two things the BBC does really well is train talent and report news. The rest I can take or leave.
He got an extension from his deal that was due to end 2024, not seen anything about another one since. But a lot of contract news isn’t getting published these days. We’ll see what happens.
Just cos it’s midfield doesn’t mean they all have to be mid. None of the midfielders other than Grimes and Rudoni have made the spot their own so for me they’re all replaceable.
It’s more than we’ve sort of bumbled our way in just over the line with other teams falling over themselves to avoid the playoffs rather than built a solid team that looks formidable even like early Sunderland. I’d like to see a sustained push and us putting more teams to the sword before I was...
Ultimately whatever had to be done to enable Lampard to put at least a first XI out that matches his vision needs to be done. If he hasn’t sell some family silver to do it I’d understand. Besides he’s related to Harry Redknapp, no way he doesn’t love a wheel and deal.
I don’t think he has though. You can’t argue with his goals but outside of that all the day one complaints about attitude, clumsiness, inability to pass all still stand.
