Which makes you wonder about the benefit of sending them away for six weeks really. Why not have them in training if they’re going to be doing it anyway, even if at a more relaxed pace and the ability to take a holiday.

Most will be well drilled. Not sure I’d want to go into work over the 6 week break. It’s the measure of a player if they come back unfit.

From what im aware of they go in for their final 'warm down' session, have a group meeting about the overall season etc

Then they are free to do what they like until 1st July, but within reason, as they are given a weight and body fat target to come back within.

Most of the squad tend to go away end of May (co inciding with half term school holidays for those with kids) for 2 or 3 weeks and indulge in a few beers, a kebab or 2 and why not, but as I say they have a target the club sets them to come back within

Those who will be being let go will have already been told

And if they don't meet them targets do they get fined?

The waterpark at Jumariah beach hotel in the 1st 2 weeks of June is full of players from Prem and Champ

Serious question folks..

Any idea what actually goes on at Ryton in the first days of the close season?

I assume each player is given a fitness programme maybe a squad talk and then they all go off on their holibobs, it would interesting to know

Yeah and me. Also when does Frank sit down with players to have honest convos. Is that now before holidays or in a few weeks time

Is there even a transfer list?

I suppose it is mostly done through meetings with players agents these days.

If you work full time, I don't think footballers do, do they? How longs a normal training day? I know it's not 8 hours and nors a home match day.

Six weeks seems a bit long though. Why not a couple of two weeks or something. Or at least offer something within the club over that time.

Because they are like school children, most of them have had 6 week summer holidays since they were 5 years old, they've literally never experienced anything else.

It's not like many of them have ever done a weeks proper work.

And how many hours constitutes "full time" for a footballer?
