Match Thread Coventry City - Millwall FC Match Thread - Tuesday 20th Jan

Wasn't there a team that used the excuse they 'didn't want politics in football' for booing players taking the knee, but at the same time were chanting about something else political, like Brexit? Not sure it was Millwall, but just reminded me of it as it had been brought up again.

What, takes an age to actually take it after numerous failed run ups and then manages to smack it into his own face?

What I mean is, you can't condone what the Senegalese players did, but it may have just effectively won them the tournament.

But not for the keeper to readjust. They can basically save it at the second attempt.

Devil's advocate: If they hadn't had all that shenanigans would they have missed the penalty? Got to mess with your head all that going on. Would he have hit the panenka if they hadn't gone off the pitch?

I think we could start the same 11 again, but we'd really need to use our subs as so many of our players look a bit leggy. Grimes especially, Torp still looks like he struggles to play a full 90, MvE could do with a rest as could EMC. I also think Rudoni isn't quite there yet fitness wise...

Isn't that a good thing? A competitive division where games could go any way? For me the problem with la Liga is Barca and RM have far too much power and financial clout.

If he played like that every week they've be no need for him to flip the bird cos we wouldn't even be having the debate. My take is that he's a bit unhappy at being dropped to the bench. And why I think Lampard has mismanaged the strikers. Simms thrives on confidence, and Lampard dropped him...

Tactical issues and corrections vs Leicester

Could somebody clear something up for me? Earlier in this thread someone was talking about the problem being that Grimes, Torp and Rudoni all play in a straight line hence the problems with finding each other and why it's so easy for teams to get around us. But I've seen lots of complaints...

    Rudoni

Nah, I think that'd be curtains for him.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Given the amount of lying, backstabbing and self interest, maybe the prize for the winner of the Traitors should be a place in Parliament, and thus end up increasing attention on affairs of state among the general population?

I prefer Yang Min Style as it's supposedly his favourite song. But I'd happily take the Village people over generic shite.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Indeed. Why take on complete unknowns to balls-up running the country when you can have people who've already got experience of ballsing up running the country.

Having the opportunity to take him off after 70 minutes where possible so he's not having to play 90 minutes every game just makes sense. It's not just the physical, it's the mental strain too. We can't do that right now. Even Alex Ferguson used to rotate his best players when they were showing...

Because we have some form of cover for Torp in the form of Eccles and, to an extent, Allen. We have no-one that plays the same way as Grimes. And it's all very well saying 'he never gets injured'. Same argument was used for O'Hare. Until he did get injured. To not have someone there to fill...
