Worth pointing out what the scientists were saying when the results of the first couple of vaccines came out at 90% effective. It was said that was a very high figure. Even if you take the 70% figure for Astra it seems that's still very good for a vaccine and more in the range that was expected...

Reading what their CEO actually said it looks like the impact will be minimal at most. Said they needed another international study, which would be faster given the data they already have, because the FDA won't accept data from studies outside the US. Also said there was not expected to be any...

Only the Astra one isn't it which was the last one to be announced. Plans were already underway to get the Pzier out to people before we even knew about the success of Astra. So obviously not brilliant news but good that they are properly testing things and not a case of back to square one.

Anyone else get the feeling Whitty isn't on board with the tiers or the relaxation at Christmas from tonights briefing? Made it very clear the tiers were decided by government and when talking about hugging your relatives at Christmas said "no I would not if you want them to survive to be...

    Tier 3 for us

Same problem places like the Belgrade have. Get told they'll be allowed to open up with a socially distanced audience, book things in and sell tickets, get told they can't have anyone in.

The issue seems to be it was done by accident. Obviously its good they did if it led to them discovering the half dose works better. The question now is do they have to go back to the start of the testing as the results they've published aren't consistent with the testing they were proposing to...

Got to hope with the vaccine that they realise this is something they can't mess around with and hand a huge contract to their mates with zero experience. If they fund the experts and leave them to it things should go OK.

Fans back in stadia by Xmas?

If we assume fans being allowed back in is so the government didn't need to give football a bail out does that now need to be looked at again for clubs in areas that still aren't allowed supporters in?

Is pubs the only thing that's different? I've lost track to be honest with them keep changing things. Just seen someone say no indoor exercise in tier 3 but gyms can open. How does that work?

Think they are going to need to clarify how they've worked this out. At first look the tiers don't really track with the case numbers or hospital admissions. If people think its not valid are they less likely to stick to the rules?

I managed to get through on that. Shows Coventry City Council under tier 3 so what the Telegraph are reporting is correct.

Fans back in stadia by Xmas?

Think they might just be doing whole areas rather than individual cities and towns so Birmingham is tier 3 and everywhere around it goes tier 3 irrespective of their own numbers. Our head office is in Exeter. Their rolling rate of cases is far higher than Coventry and they've re-opening their...

Surely its not just Wilson who would need to be classed as a pro, will need a sub keeper as well. If we claim we haven't got anyone for the bench and they let us bring someone in can they then stop him playing ahead of Wilson? Wouldn't have thought so.

Look at the flip side. If you're the airline that doesn't require vaccination or a clear test before flying and you have a couple of hundred people get infected that all trace back to one of your flights how is that for promotion? Can defiantly see this sort of thing being implemented...

    Pay Freeze for Public Workers

Exactly, look at the language used, 'right to request' and 'reasonable manner'. So your employer turns your request down for any reason what are you going to do then?
