ACL is not funded by the government.

    ACL £1m profit?

SBTaylor, ACL is not a quango. You may be able to use google to find an example of a limited company that was once a quango or vice versa but that still doesn't make ACL a quango. You call it a charity in other posts. Confusing use of terms = obfuscation.

    ACL £1m profit?

Let it lie chaps. What cj said or didn't say is not the issue. The future of Coventry City is the issue.

    ACL £1m profit?

ACL is not a quango. It is a limited company ... very different beastie. For evidence of the progress of council owned clubs we should watch Valencia's progress with interest. ;)

    ACL £1m profit?

SBTaylor, why do you call ACL a quango? It is not.

    ACL £1m profit?

Well, as ACL are a company I can think of no legal reason why they would be unable to buy a football club. The council would not want to buy a football club but they could do what Portsmouth council did and loan an interested party like a supporters group a chunk of money to bid for a club...

    ACL £1m profit?

Question for SBTaylor, Grendel et al: If ACL ended up owning ccfc outright would you switch sides and applaud our new owners and back them to the hilt?

Will Sisu Now Decide to press for Admin - as the season is now almost done?

Ferret, you will have us crying in a minute. So many assumptions in that post. Hedge funds play hardball. Their investors are people willing to risk big money in the hope of making big gains. The idea that they have worked hard for this money is laughable. Many of them inherited it, embezzled...

    Bucket shake for women's team

I don't support all charities but If folks make the effort to collect in the freezing weather we had last week I would find some loose change even if I didn't usually like the cause much. Some of you Neanderthals need to have a word with yourself with these macho remarks.

Sisu - it's always somebody elses fault

You see this is what doesn't ring true for me. The revenue streams from the Ricoh are tiny compared to a council's budget and it seems more likely that CCC want rid of the whole thing but only to a company they trust to keep that part of Coventry improving. The last thing CCC need is aggressive...

Sisu - it's always somebody elses fault

Elephant, If the council owned the Ricoh and CCFC you think they would milk it and let it rot. Am I right? Cannot see it, myself. If such an unlikely event came to pass the council would want to sell it, surely? Maybe interested parties would then step forward, including part owned by...

Sisu - it's always somebody elses fault

Sorry elephant, you still haven't explained why SISU would be better than your alleged cunning plan of a council owned club? Unlikely, but you need to explain why this would be worse.

Genuinely does anyone think the play offs are still on

No, not now the players will worry about not getting paid & we missed out on another striker. Squad remains weak and unable to close the gap IMO Hope this post gets rammed down my throat in 2 months time!

Sisu - it's always somebody elses fault

Elephant, If the council want the Ricoh with CCFC in it, why would that be worse than what we have now with SISU? That was my question.

Sisu - it's always somebody elses fault

Elephant, Why would the council getting control of the Ricoh with CCFC in it (cannot see why the council would want this scenario, but anyway...) be worse than SISU?

So why would that be worse than where we are at now?

Sisu - it's always somebody elses fault

Why would the council want it without CCFC to play in it? Genuine question BTW
