    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

There's been plenty of questioning of the various vaccines and vaccination programs on this thread but most people look at the evidence, listen to the experts and see that the benefit, both to themselves as an individual and the wider population, far outweighs the risk.

    Drinking in the stands

Couple of years back I remember an interview on the news with someone from the British Transport Police. Was obviously on because they wanted him to give the football fans are hooligans line but he actually said they have far more trouble with rugby fans than football fans 😂

Game on now for sure. Lets knock these over nice and early. Don't want a finish as nerve wracking as Lancs v Hants yesterday!

    Drinking in the stands

People near me are up and down constantly as it is. Bloke in front of me must disappear off into the stands 4 or 5 times each half for tea, crisps, chocolate, hot dogs. You'd miss half the game with everyone going for beers as well.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Companies generally do things in their own benefit so it makes me think they've identified that the best thing for their company is to get back to normal as quickly as possible and the best way to achieve that is through high vaccination rates.

    All purpose cricket thread

Problem is going to be Somerset don't really have anything to play for so they can just block all day for a draw. Its only the difference between being bottom and second from bottom for them.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

This is a common complaint from music promoters. With no mandated system in place its left for each promoter to decide how they enforce the guidance. You can't insist on people using a secure vaccine passport app for example when the government don't make that a legal requirement. Think it...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Its a mess. The government guidelines for events are that vaccine passports should be checked as a requirement of entry and that masks should be worn but as they've removed any legal requirement it's now down to individual events & venues. So its not being applied by everyone as we know. Try...

3 years from the start, which would seem about in line with past pandemics, or 3 years from now?

    Units of alcohol

Don't think I've had a drink since we first went into lockdown. Didn't make any big decision to be a non-drinker just don't see the point sat at home on my own! Quite tempted to not bother again, don't really miss it.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

But issues with things like covid, Russia's control on the supply etc as detailed in the articles apply to all countries not just the UK so what is so different about us? I've looked for reports of other governments in Europe having to reassure that there will be enough food and the power won't...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Is what's happening here also happening in Europe? I assume not given the reports that NI are OK as they can get supplies from Ireland. If its not Brexit why is the increase in wholesale price impacting us more than elsewhere?

    Derby points deduction

Why do Derby and now Reading get to negotiate their points deduction with the EFL? Have I just blocked it from my memory as I don't remember that being an option for us either time they took points off us.

    Gas and co2 crisis

Sure any loans will be made on a commercial basis and the government will ensure they have sufficient security to ensure they are paid back in full. "not clear yet what subsidies or incentives the government has offered" doesn't fill me with confidence the taxpayer isn't on the hook there as well.

    JSB Ticket Help

Your solution for someone not being able to do something, which it turned out they could actually do, is for the club to stop selling tickets online? Seems a slight overreaction. The club don't own the site, they use the eticketing platform which is a Ticketmaster backend customised with our...

    Anti-SISU

I suspect it was a convenient excuse for people who didn't fancy some of the complete shit we saw in L1 and L2. The number of people who were genuinely boycotting anything was probably pretty low. Not to say that SISU weren't unpopular obviously but you generally don't see protests against...
