Match Thread Coventry City v Oxford United - FA CUP 3RD ROUND - 6th January 12:30

Can't argue with that. They are a decent league 1 side and we controlled the game at a canter. Liked the intensity in which we began both halves. Clearly nothing taken for granted. Both our goals conceded were a bit sloppy but on another day we could have had double figures. Nice to see two out...

Feel for Tavares. Nerves as well as rustiness. Must be weird being injured in the last FA cup match a year ago. Hopefully will feel better once through unscathed.

Great footwork by Allen there and a quality Godden finish

We will be lacking aerial ability in defence but Thomas is deserving of a rest. Opportunity for Binks to try and keep the shirt with Kitching available next match.

Exciting team selection. Hopefully get out of sight and then be able to freshen up after the hour mark. Great opportunity for Simms. Will be interesting to see Latibeudiere at CB in a 4.

Are we about to lose the heartbeat of the club ?

Pre injury O'Hare's dynamism, stamina, movement and awareness were his strengths. He was never quick over distances. Since his return the quality of his end product has been better, which is impressive considering the length of time without playing. His tenacity isn't at the same level but maybe...

What a turnaround. Van Ewijk wasn't anywhere near his best first half but was electric in the second. His acceleration is phenomenal.

Bidwell has done well. Two blocks and lots of energy going forward.

Rash coming out early on but since then he has been excellent.

Some of our play was calamitous. Up until their goal Thomas and Bidwell were our better players. Then Thomas totally sells himself, leaving him out of position when the cross came in. Great to have bounced back so quickly as otherwise it could have been a rout. Some of Sakamoto's passing is...

Transfer Rumour Confirmed - Bradley Collins

I think Collins has a lot of improvement to make. His handling is less than convincing. Shots straight at him are not sticking. He is comfortable passing it around at the back and making angles to do so but some of his kicking is poor. Quite a few times he's hit a flat kick straight at an...

    Kelly & Fadz

We could do with keeping them until the summer. Their experience maybe crucial at the tail end of the season. I imagine the defenders can still learn from Fadz, even in training. Kelly would be my go to for seeing games out. And, I know it will never happen but out of our 3 keepers, I think...

I wonder whether Sakamota will need resting. I hope not but he, Wright and Thomas are the only outfield players who have been playing back to back full games of late. I would go with: Collins Van Ewijk, Thomas, Binks, Bidwell Sheaf, Eccles, O'Hare or Palmer Sakamota, Simms, Wright

Maybe it is an agreement with Brighton but I don't see the point of Ayari being on the bench. He must be a talented player, but does not look ready for Championship football. Instead, I would have Kelly in there. He is someone who can marshal if needed to see a game out, like the Swansea game.

Match Thread Coventry City - Swansea City Match Thread - Friday 29th Dec

Simms has similar attributes to Wright. Both can strike the ball well and both are quick. Wright's first touch is probably a bit better. Both are not showing enough strength on the ball or in the air. The difference is that playing on the left, Wright is coming up against less physical and...

Match Thread Coventry City - Swansea City Match Thread - Friday 29th Dec

I wonder whether Bidwell is off in January?! Can't understand how he has been dropped in the first place, let alone be left on the bench. Binks did okay but without Kitching and Bidwell there was a lack of physicality. Swansea knew that and targeted it.
