Solid half. Wright holding the ball better. Definitely improving. Allen has really struggled but needs to step up with Sheaf off the pitch. Van Ewijk and Sakamota causing more problems than Clark so far. Long may it continue. Bidwell sticking to Roberts like glue. What a solid defender.

Latibeudiere harassing well and break up play. A Kelly-type performance.

Decent performance. Need to maintain focus at the back, as one error can easily undo the good work. Simms looks quite good on his own. Looking a bit stronger on the ball and his pace is there to see. I would like to see Wright on for Da Silva on the hour.

I had him at a 5. Thought it was his worst performance for a long while. However I thought he stepped up with the injection of energy from the bench and was close to getting us the winner had it not been for a top draw save, hence his 6 rating.

Thought Robins got the tactics spot on. Just a shame he didn't make the changes 10 minutes earlier. If only we had been a bit more clinical.

Excellent today. His link up with Sakamota is looking first class.

Definitely needed the subs coming on. It gave us a boost of energy and we looked dangerous. Thought Palmer was sharp and changed the tempo.

Common factor between recent clean sheets and last season's clean sheet record - Jake Bidwell. Out of contract at the end of the season isn't he? Need to get him signed.

In spells some of the best football of the season. Some of the pass and movement was brilliant. Just need to work on the sloppy periods of play if we are going to step and get wins against the better teams. Didn't think Thomas started great but him and Kitching are an impressive partnership. Van...

Best combination all season between Van Ewijk and Sakamota - the pace and weight of pass between the two has been brilliant. Sakamota also has the intricacy that fits nicely with O'Hare's. Exciting stuff. We just need Simms and Wright to show some confidence and strength.

    Who takes the next penalty?

I still have more faith in Godden finding the net than anyone else.

    Hamer back?

Fantastic player for us and started well for them. Difficult though to show his potential in such a poor team. I think a return to the Netherlands is most likely at the end of the season.

Yep, Godden deserves more respect. A player can be out of form and have limitations (pace) but let's remember how important a player he has been for us. Even with him missing a penalty, I have more faith in him putting an opportunity away in the box than any other player we have. He gives his...

True, there were some under performers. However, due to the changes we looked unsure and the natural connections and understanding which had come together in last couple of matches, were not there. Hard for anyone to be on their A game in these circumstances

Collins 6 (one semi-decent save but got lucky with his risky distribution) Van Ewijk 6 (good recovery runs but otherwise ordinary) Thomas 6 (in the main did okay but a few too many errors on the ball) Kitching 7 (didn't do much wrong. I like the way he moves the ball forward quickly) Bidwell 7...

Match Thread Ipswich Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 2nd Dec

Ipswich are so well drilled at what they do, it was bizarre to think an experimental setup including two players who have had little match practice was going to be effective. Certainly have it as plan B (or C) but to start off this way was a big gamble.
