I also watched Kirkland in youth team games, and thought he looked poor, even at that level. A few years later we sell him for £5m+, and he looks like a rock, albeit a glass one, as it turns out.

IIRC that was the rent we were having to pay for highfield road after we'd sold it to developers-please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. The same amount of rent, for a much better stadium, probably seemed a good deal based on that, but we all know what problems that has caused.

Nonsense - any costs are at the discretion of the club that owns the player. There could be no fee, and no wages to pay, depending on how generous the loaning club are.

Sounds like they haven't been 'stolen' then Robo. Also they are not a 'club' with a long history, traditions and local community (eg CCFC) . They are a football business that has been established less than 10 years, and have no sentimental ties to any specific location.

Maybe they are paying nothing ie the same deal ccfc were offered until the end of the season, and rejected ?
