We really are not good enough for playoffs shout. Too many performances like this. Think Allen would have been a better option than Sheaf, especially with 70+ minutes to go.
So many mistakes across the board.
The second half needs to be far better if we are to get a win.
Such an annoying watch. Multiple petty fouls not addressed by a shocking referee. Time wasting. Rub of the green not our way (apart from our goal). All the second balls fell their way. And then giving them a goal that wouldn't look out of place in an U7's match.
Sakamoto just can't get into this. Normally his touch is impeccable but not so far today.
Overall our defence has played well considering they move the ball quickly and incisively. Their goal though had numerous errors from midfield and defence.
That's true. Wright and Mason-Clark don't add much protection, compared to the help Milan gets from Sakamoto.
However, that being said, Bidwell has been poor since his stomach injury. I wonder if he is fully fit.
Worrying talk about Dovin. Sounds like it could be a serious knee injury. I was hoping it might just have been knee on knee pain.
Not sure why Collins started ahead of Wilson. It's not as if he has had more game time in the last few months.
Dovin has made a huge difference since replacing...
For the short and longer term it couldn't have gone much worse. If Dovin is out for the season I fear that will be our season over too.
Allen and Grimes have done okay but those in front have nothing. Thomas is having a bad game and I worry about him on a yellow.
Allen may not be a top 6 player, but he is a player that can get you into the top 6.
How we needed him against Derby.
Today we maintained the tempo. Maybe we could afford to knowing there is a break to come. Ideally we need to play at this tempo for the remaining games.
Dovin 7
Van Erwijk 8
Thomas 8
Kitching 8
DaSilva 8
Grimes 8.5
Allen 9
Torp 8.5
Sakamoto 8
Wright 10 motm
Mason-Clark 8
Subs: Paterson's best cameo by far with some nice touches
Best performance of the season. Aside from his goals, Wright's best performance in a Sky Blue shirt. Well done Lampard for sticking with him after Derby, as I wouldn't have.
Jamie Allen gives us the intensity we sometimes miss.
Mason-Clark was much better defensively today, helping us look less...
Grimes and Allen look a great midfield combo. Why Allen was taken out of the team is beyond me. Wright looks far more aggressive. Maybe Lampard sticking with him gave him a boost.
I think we need to start the game at high tempo and so for me, Allen should start. When we drop into pedestrian pace we concede. We are much better on the front foot. Torp alongside Grimes.
I would have Wright on the bench. Simms will want to score against his old (loan) club.
I feel at this point we need to prove we are good enough and deserving in our performance levels. It is impressive to grind out results when not playing particularly well but that can only go on for so long. I can't remember many games that we have lost where we have been unlucky to do so. Most...
