Right then who is in the know… The alleged trouble in the camp?

It would be horrendous, difference being that championship football is far more marketable to the public, TV, and sponsors than premier rugby will ever be.

My thoughts exactly. The big 3 players could easily have netted 12-15 mill between them. A club in trouble would have sold as many as necessary.

The only thing I'd say to that is, if our financial position was that bad, vIk, Hamer or O'hare would have been sold at the first offer. Not saying we're flush, but the fact none were sold tells it's own story.

    Empty seats in 14 & 15

I'm sure I noticed some small barriers on the empty side of Jimmy Hill, unless they were already there.

Especially as they may have found some more mugs to bail them out.

Match Thread ⚽️ Coventry City vs Preston North End Match Thread - Wednesday 31st Aug

Just back, and having thought about it, WTF was MR thinking when putting that starting 11 on the pitch? Easily the worst selection for a match since his return. We owe him lots, but tonight,he lost the plot.

That I can agree with. Unless it's a ridiculous offer they are quite happy to trundle along, dragging me behind them.

So knowing sisu as we do, that is what they would want, and probably a bit more. If you add on the slight possibility that the stadium lease may become available at say 30mill, I can't see anyone willing to shell out 80+mill for the club. Can you ?

So as I said, they class the original takeover debt as still owing somewhere. I'm not arguing for them, only putting their warped opinion forward.

I'm assuming that they included the 40+mill debt from the takeover in 2007 and subsequent covering of losses to date ( or up to the last offer to purchase).

Well, if you take into account a team in the bottom tier, no real financial assets in the playing squad, in fact no assets at all, they turned down a deal which could have been worth up to £20mill. They stated they had invested £80mill in the club, so im assuming they are looking for an amount...

Dave Boddy - Time To Go?

Shame that Villa Park told the CWG where to put the 7s when they were offered it.

Yes, both sports would be risking serious injuries on sub standard pitches.

Hard to think of any person/business that would go anywhere near them atm with a cash injection. Old ground I know, but the entire project was doomed to failure from day 1. Imagine a bailout from the public purse.

Fair comment, but what does make safe mean regarding 2 different sports. What a rugby official deems as playable would not necessarily be safe for the EFL. A new pitch is the only answer here, but as we know the money is not there.

I'm sure neither CCFC or Wasps wanted this scenario to happen, however the problem is the empty coffers of the landlords. I'm no expert, but there was a month between the last concert and the CW games to attempt to make the pitch more durable/resilient but obviously finances dictated otherwise.

That's true enough. I'm sure that this week will open the floodgates for claims and counter claims.

Part of the interview yesterday. If you believe what Boddy said, that is. " we have offered to help fund it, but they ( Wasps) are not interested"
