And WRT Hudlin, my personal opinion is that because he’s chosen to remain at Brum Uni he’s not developed as quick as he otherwise would if he had out all his energy into football. My view - fair play to the lad. If his studies complete this summer then he has scope to concentrate on football...

The key word is “young”. Not many youngsters are the finished article. They develop - some quicker than others. See Jamie Vardy for details. Bad player. Sorry - not one of your better posts.

Pressing and running requires athleticism which, as many of us know declines as we hit 30. Also, wear and tear takes toll and injuries compound the issue. Walker might come good as a support poacher to Godden if he can get his head in the right space. Tavares might feature more next year. In...

    Blues protest vs Us

On the subject of the Blues it seems like Barrington Patterson (one eye Baz from the doors of Cov in my youth) has passed. Looked very fit and healthy. Life is short guys.

    Swiss Ramble - Twitter

For those that use Twitter there’s an excellent thread about CCFC finances. Easy to digest and has good comparison figures to other clubs. The handle is @swissramble and the thread today.

My thoughts were to cover him on L2 wages and loan him out. If he excels then recall at Xmas if we can create a deal to do so.

Two minds on this. One mind - simple - free up wages and good luck. Other mind - he’s talented and 23. He will only be offered L2 money elsewhere I would suggest so offering him a low contract on a back-to-back loan deal might work. EG. 1 year deal with 1 year option in our favour. (He...

    Var in championship

Kind of sets a precedent for having VAR for the Champ play off final and possibly semifinals. (ducks for cover).

Maybe the sides are given the choice in the play off final for example. If we were to miraculously scrape 6th and fluke the final, I’d be gutted to lose on a dodgy decision

When Champ SUFC let McNulty, 25, drop to L2 for zero and he gets sold for 1m plus the year after, I guess many of their fans were divided on opinion too. Your opinion is perfectly valid given injuries though. Tough call.

If it becomes mathematically impossible for us to reach playoffs, then it’s well worth putting him in the pitch for the remaining matches.

L1/L2. If we can cover his wages with a loan then it’ll be a relatively risk free gamble. We will kick ourselves if he does a JCH and we let him go, he has a good season and becomes a 1m player. We’ve invested for 3 years without return. It’d be worth having a contingency plan.

Extend contract. Season long loan somewhere

I believe VAR is coming. It’s how it’s going to be phased in is the conundrum

Refs should get, say, £10k match fee. After the match, for each f-ck up they should be deducted whatever %. That will sharpen them up.

Out of the most recent penalty / non penalty incidents the Derby one given was softer than the Hull Gyok wrestle down and the Tavares take out. VAR: I think VAR should be used in the championship play off final for sure. So much at stake. For the Semi’s ? Possibly. Last game of the...

    Ratings v Derby

I thought Maatsen did well when he came on. He’s a lot more pacy than Bidwell and more creative going forward. IMO Maatsen is a better LWB than Bidwell in our set up. Maatsen would not be able to cover LCB as well as Bidwell did. I don’t rate Bidwell as a LWB. Too slow and hasn’t got into...

He could most certainly finish that man. He seemed to have a shoot-on-sight policy which definitely paid off. As a kid I remember Sillett getting Dixie McNeil in to be a “finishing coach”. Can’t remember if it worked that well or not. Nonetheless, it’s something that we could think about...
