We’ve looked good tonight, Hamer should’ve done better with his header, and Walker should be on for a hat-trick. Giles on the wing has been an inspired choice tonight.

I liked Mickey Adams from memory and the season with Wise brings back fond memories as a JSB. Also, Dowie for a period and Man U away is still one of my all time favourite moments as a supporter. As for Strachan, I was at an age where I supported Cov, but didn’t know what was going on. All in...

Fans back in stadia by Xmas?

Well, that would be totally consistent with the Government’s inconsistent policies so far... It just doesn’t seem feasible we’ll be back at the football anytime soon.

If we want a true reflection of where we’re at, December is shaping up to be very important for us. Derby, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham and Wycombe are around us. Frankly, we all expected to be in this position, so I don’t know why people are shocked. The rationale for sacking Robins now...

The football world would surely agree it’s a good idea to sack Robins. Especially when you account that after 12 games, we’re outside the relegation zone. 8 of our 12 games have been against top half teams all as a newly promoted team too.

    Walker and Godden

We played 2 striker in L2 and our first season in L1... Against Fleetwood, we switched to 5-3-2 that turned our season around - injuries forced us to adapt ‘the box’ formation’.

    Walker and Godden

Yes. Robins said as much before the first game Godden and Biamou were paired together - Walker happened to be not fit.

I’ve interpreted differently, and I’m open minded that I could be wrong. At best, it was a half chance so it’s not really worth a lengthy discussion. What I will say is this: in that scenario, how threatening was Biamou there? In my view, not very. Ironically, I like Biamou and want him to...

The final pass wasn’t good, at all. My observation is just on the lack of movement. That’s my gripe with Biamou. The commentator pointed this out too. In those scenarios, we often see Godden either drop off the defender to go to the far post, or he’ll make an effort to get in front of the defender.

As the commentator noted, Biamou was on the wrong side of the defender. In that specific scenario, Biamou failed to make any meaningful movement toward either post and the defender was able to come over and cut the pass out. His movement was pretty static and passive in that attacking phase.

Where were both of these clubs at this point last season? Both teams turned it around in the 2nd half of the season and even Barnsley relied on Wigan going into administration.

Hilßner may get a chance, MR have an injury update earlier this week and it seems that he’s still struggling a bit with his asthma. As for Jobello, he’s making a comeback from a bad injury - he’ll find a way back for him. I’m surprised we didn’t experiment with Giles as a wide player further up...

I'm happy we got Walker in because now we have two good options to choose from. However, we probably need to explore bringing in a loanee in Jan - Baka looks to be bombed out and we cannot rely on Biamou taking his chances. Frankly, I don't think either are good enough at this moment. I had hope...

    Positives thread

In our 12 games, we’ve played most of the top 8. By all accounts, we’ve had a disproportionately difficult start. Today was a decent result considering our run, but we’ve got fixtures coming up that we need points from if we’re to for be ourselves a chance of survival.
