Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I suspect that his period of being happy here ends as soon as a Premier League club comes in for him or even a Championship side that can afford to pay him higher wages. It’s the way of the world ☹️

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Sadly, I think Simms has to go. He did well after a slow start last season and I had hoped that he would kick on from there. For whatever reason he seems to have gone backwards. I’m not opposed to keeping BTA, as he is a different option to our other forwards, but happy to see him depart if we...

Makes you think he would be better as a left winger but we have superior options there.

There are reports that Arsenal representatives are in Lisbon today to try and conclude a deal for Vic at €65 million (£58 million). I think the sooner it is done the better for us. We will then have time to go into the transfer market before the most suitable players have gone.

    Allen New Contract

We may have exercised the option so that we can get a transfer fee. I’d be happy to keep him. He’s a decent player and with his energy he offers something a little different to most of the other midfielders.

    Sky Blues 4 Everton 1

I was there, aged 30, on the West Terrace. I’m 70 now and running out of years to see us back in the top flight ☹️

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I see there is speculation that Everton are in negotiations to buy Gus Hamer for £25 million. If true this is good on two counts: it weakens the Blades and if the rumours are correct we get £2.5 million (10% of the total fee) as our sell-on entitlement, which is a useful sum.

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

Hamer will be off to a Premiership team now. My worry is that this will give them the financial firepower to buy Rudoni, as I don’t want him going to a Championship rival. The only good thing might be if this drives up the price that Newcastle or another top division club pays us. It goes...

Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

We definitely need a good quality goalkeeper in on loan for the season, probably a third choice from one of the top Premier League clubs. To buy a keeper of the quality we need would cost money we can better utilise elsewhere, bearing in mind the new man is likely to be the understudy to Dovin...

So, as I thought then. Thanks for confirming. The incoming instalments will enable us to go out and buy a player or players on a similar basis

    2025-2026 Season Budget

In the financial period ended 31st May 2024 the club made a net profit of £8,688,193. It would have been a sizeable loss but for the profit of £23,678,475 on player sales. It’s all here:

The chances are that whoever buys Gykores will pay the fee in instalments. I assume that our sell-on fee will be paid in the same way, so we will get 10% of each stage payment. It’s not necessarily such bad news as it sounds because no doubt we will pay our outgoing transfer fees in the same way.

You were very unlucky but don’t be too downbeat

I totally agree but, having said that, I do think the Championship is an enjoyable competition. The standard is much higher than Leagues 1 and 2 and it is far more competitive than the Premier League. I just want to enjoy what we are doing at the moment until the time hopefully comes when we...

You were very unlucky but don’t be too downbeat

I think he is committed to his job with us and wants to do his best, no more and no less. I doubt if he feels the sort of “dyed in the wool” passionate commitment that we fans feel, nor would I expect him to. If he gets a more tempting offer from elsewhere then I expect him to be tempted and...

You were very unlucky but don’t be too downbeat

If/when we do get promoted to the Premiership I don’t want us to waste most of our windfall income in an unsuccessful attempt to stay up. It probably would mean buying a lot of bottom end/average premiership players who would be off when we are relegated. I’d rather we took a longer term view...

    Will we ever

It won’t be easy but then worthwhile things rarely are. I think it will be tough next year. We will have to contend with the relegated Premiership clubs, Sunderland/Sheffield United, the likes of Middlesbrough, Blackburn and Bristol plus of course Birmingham and possibly Wrexham. We probably...
