    Dean austin

According to Doug King and Dean Austin last night the manager approved the signings, so there needs to be a collective responsibility on questioning whether the players were good enough, not just "well Dean Austin spent poorly". In terms of managers having a say on transfers this isn't...

Fair play bud, but it’s Coventry City - it get us all at the best of times and everyone who posts here wants the best for it.

Match Thread Supporter's Meeting with Doug King Match Thread

Now it’s all done and dusted I thought Doug came across well, you could tell from his voice that he was nervous or emotionally invested in this. I don’t mind that from an owner, given we had so long with SISU. I think Mark Robins will eventually put his side across, but can’t see why Doug...

I wonder how many Cov fans will apologise for putting this on Doug, not many I bet.

Going to be a difficult one tonight, unless there is a good start I can see the crowd turning and it getting nasty.

I agree with both of you that’s it’s highly unlikely Doug answers but I think it’s worth asking as it builds a picture of what support Robins had and to put the pressure on DK (I.e did give Robins his full support, if not why not, etc).

@Sky Blue Pete, any chance you can ask Doug about this tonight and also ask he also pulled the plug on signing Matty James - both are similar rumours, it would be good to know if Mark Robins had support to sign new staff or players.

I don't think you'll find many fans who will agree with me, but I'm fine with that.

Lower expectations? As I've said above, I want the new HC to target the playoffs. In terms of Robins not being "that good anyway" I simply said there were other factors which should be considered I don't think that's wrong.

Teams can just do it, but there is usually factor behind it, the reason I referenced Hamer and Gus is because that season there was two key factors behind us going on a run, but that's not guaranteed to happen. The new manager, if it is Lampard will be tasked with the playoffs and that suits me...

Is that true, or did circumstances allow for us to improve over the course of a season? If we look solely at our season(s) since back in the Championship. 20/21 - We started playing a lot better when Matty James came into the team. 21/22 - Actually played worse 2nd half of the season...

Very true, with arguably two of the best players in the division, do we have that in our arsenal now?

Match Thread Sunderland - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Nov

I thought we came flying out the traps first half, they then got a foot hold in the game and while both their goals could’ve been defended better they took both with great quality. Second half it was mostly one way traffic, got ourselves back into at 2-2 until Haji went off and it took the wind...

Yeah you’re right there AFC. Not enviable of his position as owner that’s for sure.

Granted that’s a major reason why it has never happened I imagine.

Right who's the next manager then?

Pre season was really positive, a lot of people were gushing after the Everton game. I don’t believe that there would have been a solution this time in any case unfortunately, I guess we will never know now.

Right who's the next manager then?

We shouldn’t be putting ourselves in that position Otis, consistently starting every season poorly. Only so many times will things start to click after a certain period or things change that help change the tide.
