I think you made the right call. He hadn't played for 5 weeks when we signed him, so I think he needs game time to get match fit rather than a rest.

We ideally need another 2 or 3 quality players - one of whom will replace COH - but it's still the strongest squad we have had in a long time. In recent years we have sometimes had to make the bench up with kids or two goalkeepers and on occasion haven't had a full bench. Onwards and upwards 👍

According to Wikipedia he plays as a striker or in midfield. I assume the latter means on the left wing. I don't know where he has mainly been playing for Posh but it may not have been as a striker.

He played in the world cup but not since then. I think he has a small handful of caps. I think he and McGuire are in the next tier down of players who are looking to get in the US team and to that extent probably see each other as rivals.

An interesting one but I think he is one of the strikers keeping Haji Wright out of the US team so I'm not sure that would work if they were also vying with each other for a place in our starting lineup.
