    Scariest time at a ground.

Away fans going to the station were escorted via Gulson Road, and under the subway leading to Quinton Road, before they reached the train station. Given all the pubs on Gosford Street I don't think the Police would have been too keen on them taking that route

Video Coventry City v Stoke City highlights

Their player was trying to block Wilson releasing the ball quickly, and if the ref had blown for anything it would have been for a foul to us.

    Festive fixture memories

Yes - didn't Gould resign immediately after the game? If not he didn't stay much longer! If I remember right it was a weird game where we started really well, and seemed on top but they then scored every time they attacked, when we were unable to cope with Linekar and Smith.

    Festive fixture memories

I was at this game too and there was a real edge throughout the day. I remember a copper getting his helmet knocked off and it being thrown amongst our fans like a stray balloon. We were so tightly packed that the Police couldn't get in to retrieve it. I also remembert hat coming out the ground...

    Robins

Dean Holdsworth was another that was pretty awful for us, but which was not reflective of his career as a whole.

    January transfer window

Not so sure about this. Sheaf was brought in to replace/cover for Kelly. As back up it would probably be simpler to recall Eccles in January than invest in another defensive midfielder given Kelly is due back in March. We could always bring Walsh back though :)

    Match Thread Sheffield Wednesday

This is the sensible way of looking at this. I want 3 points today and think we can get them but there are still lingering doubts about the loss of Hamer & Kelly, the extra days rest for Wednesday, and sods law that Wednesday are due a result and us a loss which would make me take a draw. With...

    Bright Enobakhare

Crying shame really because he was exceptionally talented. Unfortunately his older brother had already followed the same path and was not an ideal role model. Neither was having Coleman as his manager!!

I find it kind of ironic that on a thread started about us giving it large to 'little' Notts County, that people like you are so wet about doing likewise to Villa. Do you know any Villa fans? It must be mind numbingly boring for them if you just constantly nod your head at how great Villa...

..... because I don't support Villa, or laud their achievements! I suspect a few of you haven't spent much time around Villa fans giving it the 'Billy Big Bollocks'. Belittling their achievement is a constant source of enjoyment - I find it kind of sad that other City fans view things differently.

Sorry, but the year they were European champions they were only the 11th best team in England, and finished only a few points above us.I can't think of a weaker team to have won that trophy in my time watching football.

They won the European Cup, not the Champions League. Even then they rode their luck and were very fortunate to win.

    Match Thread Wycombe

Strange how we can see the same game or player and view things so differently. While he might not have been John Williams fast, I don't remember Grimmer being particularly slow either.

When did Villa win the Champions League?

I also find him comical on the whole, although I do find his regular referrals to the 'as it stands' tables quite annoying.

    Match Thread Wycombe

I fully expect Robins to play Shipley on Saturday, possibly reverting to one up front given Shipley had just about his best game last season at Wycombe in that formation. Wycombe's defenders are more comfortable against conventional forwards like Biamou, but are more easily dragged out of...

    Max v Baka

Carl Baker had, and still has his share of 'haters' just as Biamou has. I was lucky enough to meet Baker and he came across as a genuinely nice guy, with a proper affection for our club, and who having played non league had a proper appreciation of his good fortune in making it as a pro. For...

    Shipley

Shipley is not shit. However, he is plainly struggling this season and playing like his confidence is shot - which wouldn't be wholly surprising if he did read comments on here by the 'supporters' of his own team. Unfortunately his weaknesses in respects of stamina and tackling which have...

    Match Thread Rotherham

I presume Rotherham are still a team of 6ft + players. If so I would go 2 up front with Biamou and Walker and play 3 at the back so something like: Wilson Ostigaard McFadzean Hyam Dabo Sheaf Hamer Kelly McCallum Walker Biamou Having the likes of O'Hare, Giles and Jobello to come on against...
