I wasn't pretending anything. I haven't suggested the Council have said anything other than you have. I'm just trying to make a small point that the contract could be broken despite what CCC or Wasps say, but the fact they say they won't break it is worth saying, whilst at the same time saying...

I know how leases work, thanks anyway. Have the club got a lease, or are they renting the stadium on a match basis?

I would have preferred that the Council offer the same deal to the club. No avoidance from me, just because I haven't written something here doesn't mean I'm avoiding it. CCC have insisted that the club remain there for the 4 years the club wanted, it makes sense for Wasps to want the club...

I don't recall such comments or what context they were said in, if you want me to comment post them up.

If I break a phone contract I don't have to make myself bankrupt, if a company cancels a car lease they don't have to go into administration. There may be penalties for breaking a contract, but to suggest a contract can't be broken is just a nonsense. I would imagine Wasps would help the club...

Yes, that would be their job. Do you know anyone that would run it for free?

How can they insist the club sign up to any agreement? The club only wanted 4 years, Fisher is now talking about wanting 5. Wasps will want to make money so the club will be welcome for as long as they want.

I don't see how stating a fact is making an excuse. CCC have said the contract that the club asked for should be honoured by whoever takes over. Wasps have said they will honour the contract. It makes perfect sense for Wasps to honour the contract, they will make money out of it. Contracts...

Contracts have been broken before, saying that they won't be for the club still doesn't stop it happening, just means that there may be more compensation to pay.

Anyone now thinking of jacking the whole thing in?

At least that appeared good at the time and then got worse, this appears shit, and it keeps getting worse.

Bit like a wedding, everyone sees the ceremony, but the actual signing may take place on a different day, or in a different country.

Did they promise that? I thought they were just making sure CCFC had the same deal the club wanted and had signed up for, and the Cov bit was more of a fingers crossed, hopefully they will be alright, may even use some of Wasps training and players.

If he wouldn't answer then I would suggest the answer is clear, the sale hasn't actually happened yet. I suppose that makes sense from Wasps point of view, they probably don't want to buy the share until they know they can have 100%.

Yes, that's what the figures show for those years. It excludes any more investments they are making in the area, just the donations given. Come on I know there must be a punch line coming, just get on with it.

Obviously yes. The shares cost them £6.5m, they are held on their balance sheet, and when they sell them for less they will have to write that off. I think they have about £19m of investments, so they will take quite a hit. Not sure what point you are trying to make, if there is one.

Got those figures for you. For the 5 years ended in 2013 Higgs donated £1,077,066. I would imagine this will be in line with their remit to donate in Cov and within 25 miles of Cov. This total was for 219 donations to charities, so about £5k each. They also gave £50k over that period to...

An interesting post. I don't need to know any numbers as such, just trying to establish what your claiming. It's no clearer really. I'd rather the articles be accurate, that would save a lot of the arguing, why should people not point out the errors? Not worming out at all, just explaining...

An interesting post. So it's not a lot of people, but your irony meter exploded, so how many is it? If you look closely you'll not find that I stated that you did say a lot of people, I mentioned that's what it seemed you were suggesting. You have the right of reply, and you have used it so...

We're all hypocrites in different ways. Some people may argue that it's hypocritical to complain at wasps coming in when the same people went to Northampton, but deals and situations are never exactly the same.
