I think my answer covers both of your points. Whovever is interviewed, and I use the term loosely in respect of local news reporting, should in my view be challenged when the bullshit detector goes off, whether that be Lucas, Seppala, Fisher, Garlick, ACL, etc etc.

Could be, I think also though that by Wasps (assuming they get 100%) taking on the loan they are maybe including this in the reported £20m deal, so as to try and justify selling, as the price appears higher.

The Council can't veto anything if the sale has gone through, which they say it has. Wasps however will be able to veto it, so that will be the end of that.
