Hi there, Saw this on your Facebook page too. Must have been a great few weeks with trip to Wembley too? Looks like the club are working hard on acquiring that next generation of supporters! Agree the lawn does need a bit of work!!
In a perverse way, if what we end up with is a team full of our own academy graduates it’s 100 times better than watching a team full of mercenaries ala Chelsea and Man City.
Any word on whether Wealdstone will be entertaining us or Exeter for the playoff final? We went there before the Checkatrade final and the hospitality was great as well as being quick and easy to get to Wembley on the tube.
Mainly by the reluctance to open extra blocks, which was my understanding at the time I posted. Maybe that theory is out of the window now! Still the point re the additional financial benefit to the club of a larger crowd still stands.
One aspect that may be getting overlooked is the additional benefit the club will receive from a 30k gate. Based on the 12.5% share that the club will receive, an extra 10k on the date may only generate 20k of income. Could it be that SISU are actively discouraging a larger crowd in order to...
Do we really believe that if Barnet and Mansfield are both winning with us drawing, that the mutually beneficial result won’t happen? That said I’d like us to go out like today and get early goals to kill it stone dead.
Normally I park on Beresford Avenue next to the Unipart depot. There’s a jetty past a primary school and a bridge across the A444 onto Lythalls Lane. It’s about a 10 minute walk. I’ve found spaces along there even when we’ve had a 30k crowd.
Really! Exactly the same pattern emerging as our other seasons following relegation. I’ve been to a few games this season and not seen anything to give me confidence even when we’ve won. Don’t score enough and struggle to put the lower quality teams away. See you in Conference North under...
If anyone bleats on about the fans who don’t turn up, today is the reason why. I’d wager that we don’t even make the play offs from here. Makes me feel sick to the stomach.
I think we’ve changed our game plan at home, allowing teams to come on to us more and playing on the break.
That said, the same style should be effective away, though potentially we are playing a bit deeper and inviting more pressure.
It means repeating our form from the last 6 games, though 12 wins from 18 (assuming no draws) is a tough ask. To do it I think we're heavily reliant on improving our away form which is mediocre at best.
