    Recruitment screwed up

I can only summise that the budget doesn't include transfer fees received and that these are being taken out of the club to pay down previous SISU losses. Based on a conservative estimate the club took £2.5m in gate receipts (11k x £10 x 23), so anything received from the Maddison sale doesn't...

Law firm trying to prevent Article 50 without act Parliament using SISU QC

A few points here: Yes it will have to be voted on in parliament, but they are there to act on the will of the people and will cause uproar if they don't Screwing the UK from a trade perspective is a bad idea as they lose out more than us. Our Q1 deficit with EU countries was £24bn, mostly...

Victim of a Plague of Ghosts?

I don't think you can accuse Coventry fans of being fickle. 47 years without a top 6 finish is quite long enough! Now, if you're talking about Man U fans who are up in arms about finishing 5th after 10+ titles in the last 20 years, or Newcastle fans who think they are the hardest done to, then...

Mirror Article - Most misery since 1992

I told my son at Christmas, “don’t hold your breath, this is Coventry City” and sure enough the inevitable abject failure ensued. I keep telling myself that surely by the law of averages, something good will happen eventually, but it never does. I’ve given up hoping for it any more, and one...

    The two year plan

I think you’ve hit the nail on the head! I think we’re all sick and tired of endless 2 year plans which invariably end with further abject failure, with the occasional fleeting ‘whiff’ of success along the way. The only plan I want to hear about is a 12 month one, which ends with our...

Time to wake up and smell the coffee

You're spot on, we’ve been building and consolidating for the last 15 years and never reach the point where we actually mount a sustained challenge. I think most fans are heartily sick of it, hence the rapid drop off in attendances once the inevitable slump comes along. Even this season...

Where do you think the stadium site in Coventry might be?

Can't be near to the NEC as it has to be within 8 miles of the Council House as specified by the Football League. Most of the sites mentioned are in or around the 5 mile mark, similar to the Ricoh (4.6 miles).

Fans leaving before the end again

The funniest and most memorable case of fans leaving early was the famous league cup game in 1990, when as far as I could tell from my vantage point, almost half the Forest fans left the ground with their team 4 nil down after half an hour. By all accounts a sizable number begged to be let back...

    Have expectations exceeded reality

Completely agree and I along with many others are desperate for success. It's just the nagging doubts that continually pop into the brain!!

    Have expectations exceeded reality

I'm amazed that people continue to be surprised by the lack of belief the fans have in the club. We've been here so many times before. Nilsson had us top of the Championship in November, McCallister had us in and around the top 6 and then failed to win another game after Christmas, Coleman...

    Attendance: 5 Games In!

Every game in this league is winnable, but unfortunately from a Coventry fan's perspective they are also loseable as we've proven many times! If the team can get a bit of consistency, particularly away (we've already got the home form sorted), then I think crowds will rise to 14/15k.

    Next 3 games = 9 points

The Burton game probably gave us the template for away games. You've got to have a stronger more experienced player up top for their hold up play and to relieve the defence. The speed on the break should come from the flanks.

    11k

Prior to Saturday, it was 4 points from 4 games. 2 away defeats, an unconvincing home draw and one good performance (Burton away). Some would have seen that as a return to type, hence the impact on the attendance. Those fluctuations will continue until the team are solidly top 6 over 20+ games.

    11k

I honestly don't believe that it has a great deal to do with the owners at the moment. Whilst the current form and standard of football is admittedly encouraging, it's not yet sustained enough to entice a whole swathe of support back to the Ricoh. The fans have been let down and disappointed...

More News On Ricoh Train Station

This is an absolute scandal and should result in heads rolling. At best incompetence, at worst corruption. This actually makes me want SISU to win their case against the council!

    Defensive mistakes

Yes, but he wasn't the only player culpable. It shouldn't have got to that point in the first place. He is still young and will hopefully learn from his mistakes.
