Coventry City receive more than 50 applications for manager's job

He didn't have much of a clue when he was given an extended contract. The signs were all there for anyone to see.

    Saturday's gate?

I won't go while SISU are in charge which probably means I will never go. If SISU were ever going to go they would have gone already. CCFC is a good vehicle for their purposes which have nothing to do with football. But I am sure there will be an improvement in the gate on Saturday because...

Coventry City receive more than 50 applications for manager's job

It is a poisoned chalice because the chances of you achieving success with this board behind you is nil. Meanwhile you do as you are asked, in SPs case reduce costs and bring through youngsters and you still get the sack. But that won't stop people applying. Football managers can't expect to...

I Hope Pressely says it at is it

Not sure what influence the council had on not playing people in their proper positions or playing a style of football that failed to deliver goals or falling out with players. But I bet ACL did.

    Waggot speaks

You can read anything you like into whatever SISU say. They have been shown to be economical with the truth at every turn. Don't fall into the trap of thinking they are trying to tell us anything real.

So, who DON'T we want !

The fact is Pressley did exactly what he was asked to do by SISU. So why did they sack him? Presumably to try to take a bit of heat off themselves. Or dropping into the bottom 4 gave them a cheap option. Or both. What will any new manager be asked to do? Will he be given staying in Div 1 as...

    Pressleys been sacked

I love the fact the BBC do not mention his time with CCFC as a player. Quite rightly been expunged from history. He was useless then too.

Forest Green are bankrolled by an individual. they have more funds at their disposal than many non league clubs. Not the same situation as us where the owners invest s0d all in the team.

Are we being a little harsh?

by that interpretation he was effectively saying this was a positive. His job should have been to keep us in this division as a minimum but the club had other priorities. Wrong then to be sacked. But his sacking will make no difference to our fortunes.

Are we being a little harsh?

Maybe I've missed it but no one appears to have commented upon SP's comment after the match about the age and inexperience of our players. The whole point of his appointment in the first place was to reduce the age of the squad and bring through younger and cheaper players. He champions...

City fans reply to Alan Poole article

Why lay into the messenger? That's a bit ancient Greek isn't it? Or are Dawkin's points about the team rubbish and we are actually a great team underperforming?

    Simply The Best

Fans were devastated when Hudson left but I never saw him play. Ian Gibson had outrageous talent but I thought the first time I saw Keano that he was the best player I have seen at city. He should never have gone to Milan. Both he and us would have been better had he stayed. Having said this...

If you have any feelings towards Coventry City football club

I don't see why this game is special. There has been a constant need to follow the club just because they are your club for 13 years. There have been over 600 games when someone might think just this one last time, there is the slightest chance that I will feel better coming out than I did going in.

    Football before 1992

To be perfectly honest I'm amazed anyone at the BBC knows that football existed before 1992.

dont look here look at them.......

seems a fair summation but doesn't get us anywhere. With the real debt so massive what can ordinary fans do?

    Oral appeal

presumably when you can write off millions of pounds worth of debt by buying a company from yourself there is little reason to fold that company. In my view this is the worst scenario for CCFC because they have no interest in the football and will happily see it wither until it cannot be...

    Sisu refused permission to appeal...

blimey another two pages of huff and puff. generally when people resort to name calling they have lost the argument. Given the amount of name calling on this subject it suggests no one can ever win.
